Movie legend Dee Wallace plays a woman hosting her whole family at Christmas...well, not all of them... The subject matter is a little off-putting at first but then it just becomes like most other Christmas slashers. It's set in Australia, which kind of threw me off at first too. Usually, a Christmas movie involves snow etc. Some good screamers amongst the cast and some of the kills take you by surprise. The sleigh (slay?) bells used in the score were a cool touch, ominous!

The movie was very depressing to me. Was not expecting that.

I fucking hated this movie. As said above, it was depressing and tries to make some sort of social commentary but is too stupid and thoughtless to actually make anything of that. And it looks like garbage. The setting is the only interesting thing it has going for it... other than Dee Wallace who I just sort of felt sad for when I saw her slumming it here.
I had mostly forgotten about this movie since I watched it around a year ago. Then somebody bumped the old 'what to watch over Christmas' thread and I read over my lengthy post from then and I was reminded of this and it brought back how big a waste this one was.
