Infinity War copied The Illiad:
1. Thanos sacrifices his daughter to achieve his goal. That's a clear and obvious rip-off of The Illiad.
2. Troy is protected by an impenetrable wall and the Greeks couldn't get inside Troy, until King Priam ordered the horse brought into the city, which led to the defeat of the Trojans. Wakanda is protected by an invisible, impenetrable wall and Thanos' army couldn't get inside Wakanda, until King T'Challa ordered the wall opened to let Thanos' army into Wakanda, which led to the defeat of the Wakandans.
So will Endgame copy The Odyssey? In The Odyssey, after the war Odysseus wanders alone trying to make his way back home to his wife in Greece. In Endgame, it looks like after the war Tony Stark will be wandering alone trying to make his way back home to his fiancé on Earth.

I think you're overthinking those movies.

Number 2 is a stetch. You could find better parallels than that, like Hector and Starlord. Kinda see number 1 though

I didn’t even notice the similarities but it actually makes the movie better to me. Many stories borrow elements from past works. Especially from masterpieces. MCU borrowed from the original Supeman film, The Dark Knight borrowed from Michael Mann, specifically Heat, Logan took inspiration from great western tales, and Wonder Woman from past war films. And so many other examples like Superman/Ubermensch or Batman and pulp stories.

I never connected Avengers: Infinity War with The Iliad. I don't think Endgame will have too much in common with The Odyssey since Tony will probably return to Earth by the end of Act One. However, it's been noted that Thanos's sacrificing of Gamora is more in reference with Abraham's attempt to sacrifice Isaac on the mountain.

Being a "rip-off" of The Illiad or The Odyssey ain't a bad thing - they're two of the most legendary epic tales of all-time.

The OP doesn’t realize that everything has already been done, every story has been told, every scene has been shot. It’s almost as if he doesn’t know anything! Minus the, almost
