Well, neither do gifs with no context. Unless comparing Superman to God/Jesus automatically equals philosophy to you, in which case you must really love Superman Returns. Isn't the burden of proof on you, Mr Fallacy? You keep quoting "God is dead", yet I've read Thus Spoke Zarathrusta, and am not seeing the connection. Surely you know t here's a little more to "God is dead" than a Christ metaphor getting impaled by a cave troll... the gifs give context if you only knew the concept; I have discussed this to death, including with you. But let me enlighten you: First, " Gott ist tod", or "God is dead is not only a concept discussed by F Nietzsche, but also by P Mainländer and F Hegel/R Rothe, and by earlier and later philosophers & theologists (starting with the age of enlightenment). Nietzsche discussed it in "Joyful Science", later in Zarathustra. In a nutshell, the concept means a lot of things (philosophy is not an exact science). But in its core this is about man (through "enlightenment") becoming doubtful of the gods' preordained might & values, and ultimately destroying them. " God has died and his death was the life of the world" (Mainländer in Redemption). What follows is the " abyss of nothingness" (Hegel): confusion, fear and lawlessness because with the death of god the basic rules, morals and orientations have gone. Man (or the "superman" Übermensch) must step in and with pure reason re-create them and lead - some see it as a redemption/resurrecting cycle whereby new gods are created. " I s not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?" (Nietzsche in Joyful Science) As you have seen in the gifs, the character's in BvS doubt and hate the god-like Superman as "false god". Batman (and his crippled employee) because they see SM and Zod responsible for the attack on their "family" (Metropolis destroyed) and Bruce mistrusts all-powerful superbeings bc "absolute power corrupts absolutely" - even a good god will turn into a evil one someday (which history amply shows with leaders having too much power). Lex is even more clear: " I knew early on: If God is all powerful, He cannot be all good. And if he is all good, He cannot be all-powerful. And neither can you be." They are out to destroy him, the theme is reflected in their respective arcs. (i) Bruce's arc in BvS is that he starts out as fanatical rogue vigilante trying to destroy the "monster", which is rooted in the trauma of attack on his parents. After having defeated the Superman he realizes that Superman is vulnerable and human as him - and with all differences Superman has the same basic values like him: they fight for protecting the ones they love. Bruce goes on a redemption arc saving Martha (which he failed with as a kid). AND after Superman is destroyed Bruce (i) admits his error (ii) and leaves his vigilante ways (iii) and founds the Justice League to compensate for the death of the protective god, he becomes a Superman/Übermensch. imdb2.freeforums.net/post/2391828/thread(ii) Supe's arc in BvS is the fall of a god. It's about Supes being on top and a god-like superbeing, but him finally realizing that he is still vulnerable: First he is cocky, self assured and negligent as shown in the desert scene, bathtub scene or all the montages where they celebrate him as a pompous god. But then in comes his vulnerability and downfall due to his oversights - in the desert, the senate bombing, his mother's abduction etc - it's spelled out in the dialogue and scenes. He even seeks the advise of his dead Earth-father, who died for his conviction. In the end Supes is beaten up by Batman and finally kills himself as a self sacrifice. imdb2.freeforums.net/post/2412842/thread
Btw Congrats: Snyder is dead. Snyder remains dead. And you have killed him. Lucas is dead. Lucas remains dead. And you have killed him.
There is more to "god is dead" than a " Christ metaphor getting impaled by a cave troll" you say? No, in some cases it's exactly that.

Here's the problem with everything you said. It's all hollow and empty Your logical fallacy is personal incredulity. yourlogicalfallacyis.com/personal-incredulityYour problem is you are too obtuse to understand how stupid you are. I understood exactly what they were trying to tell. In fact, pretty sure I understood it more than you did. I'm even the one who gave you the argument about Bruce feeling powerless when seeing his parents die and then watching Zod destroy one his buildings (his other family). But just because you understand something, doesn't mean it always work. It's the same thing as just because you have an idea, doesn't mean it's good. Snyder had an overly ambitious idea, but it just came off as pretentious because at the end of the day, he used the film as a platform for his Batman to make him edgy and hard and cool, trying to replicate what Nolan. But it doesn't work though because Snyder doesn't understand Batman anymore than Superman. It's one thing to make him a bit more ruthless, but branding and outright killing is completely out of character and more than half of his rogue gallery should be dead then, especially the Joker. All those ideas and themes you brought, yeah, they could have worked if it wasn't Snyder behind the camera. He has no grasp of subtly or cohesive story.

There is more to "god is dead" than a " Christ metaphor getting impaled by a cave troll" you say? No, in some cases it's exactly that. I haven't read the other guys, but for our good pal Fred, "God is dead" meant the Age of Enlightenment had killed the idea of there even being a God. How does that apply to a movie where "God" is a walking, talking, tangible being? Our understanding of the Ubermensch is more in line with each other, but likewise I am left wondering how that applies to a movie where it's implied at the end that God is Not Dead, followed by a sequel where the so-called "Ubermensch" spends the movie pitying himself, saying he's not as good as God would have been, and ultimately deciding to resurrect God to solve all of his problens - which works. Freddy must be rolling in his grave. Nein nein, mein kumpel. Couple of other things: -I like how you linked a post of yours I refuted but you never responded to. -how was Superman negligent in BvS? You mentioned the Senate scene, but that wasn't an oversight. The bomb was hidden in lead. Didn't you watch the Extended Cut? -Lucas was a God, and absolute power absolutely corrupted him. But Snyder? He was never a god...he was never even a man.

LOL btw i just saw in the Aqua review thread you just got clobbered by posters bc you spread misinformation that Aqua falling rotten would be the biggest RT "plummet" in history , an then when getting called out and asked for proof for the claim you got pissy and deflective - so you It's how you guys operate always trying to poison the well and to smear. Its so weak, spineless and pathetic. Please attempt to express your side to the debate without resorting to lying or misinformation, for everyone’s sake. Thank you. PS: Your concern for seahawsraak is utterly moving. But she can defend herself. She is one of the biggest F-bomb throwers, stalkers and insulters here. Stupid non-arguments like saying a school of philosophy is empty bc you don't understand it, or worse claiming that ideas do not work bc of "execution" (not understanding what writing vs execution is) is beyond obtuse. In her second try it was at least better argued (though logically absurd). I remained silent.
If you guys cannot stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen or try not to misinform and smear.

You know, there is a poster on the marvel cinematic forms named Summers8. He has no quarrels about bashing anything and everything to do with marvel studios. Some of it is highly irrational, even you can recognize that. But at the end of the day, he is susbstantially better for this community than you because he doesn’t resort to outright personally attacking people solely based on their opinion on a highly subjective manner. There is no excusing it or shifting blame. Why do you treat people so horribly?

I’m a DC fan and I will defend this forum and its posters from your hate speech. As far as Liar? You can defuse my claim, even dispute it. But to say you know I lied about something would imply you can Prove Aquaman didn’t have the biggest RT plummet from initial review to final score. I’m ready for your doctrine on the subject. After whatever the heck ‘reap what you saw’ means.

Exactly, the claim in question is you calling me a liar. Dispute my comment all you want, but when you make an accusation like that, where is your proof? You made claims (highest drop ever) without any proof. You refused to name sources when asked by posters - thus beyond a reasonable doubt you just made it up to smear the film. Either you are a liar spreading misinformation or you are an imbecile unaware of his actions, or both. That simple. This is how it works in court and real life too. You have to prove your claims, or you lose (case, friends, job). Btw. You are now ignoring your own "reap and sow" and burden of proof blunder? You mocked me a lot with it. I hope you have at least learned a lesson, or I am completely wasting my time with you. Congrats, you haven proven yourself to be a troll. No big revelation there. Btw, you are constantly personally attacking. You do it with your own passive-aggressive, misinformed, poisonous, manipulative, narcissistic way.

Well, at least you were nice about it.
