No. I've seen it multiple times and before this debate came up a couple of years ago I did not even remember that it took place at Christmas time because Christmas is irrelevant to the story.

Not only it's a Christmas movie, it's the best Christmas movie of all time.

It is. The Christmas theme helps give the movie its charm. It takes place during a Christmas party on Christmas Eve with tons of Christmas related quotes and imagery.

Grown men threw money and whistled at him! This summation of the Christ story is one of your best pieces, nausea! And it took four whole gospels to say the same thing! Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were not reading Strunk and White, were they?

I just saw it in the theater (rereleased five days after Christmas, go figure) and am sticking to it being a Christmas movie. One thing I hadn't notice before is the score features what sound sleigh bells - f*"king sleigh bells! And there's a lot of other Christmas music throughout, with at least three versions of Let It Snow. All contribute to a Christmas atmosphere.

No. Both 'Die Hard 1 and 2' took place on Christmas eve but I wouldn't really call them Christmas movies 'cause the main focus of the movies isn't Christmas and the other 'Die Hard' movies were based at different times of the year.
