I keep them for the most part.
I bought the complete series of Married With Children some time ago and the case it came with had the dvd's stacked on top of one another. So I bought some really nice blu ray cases, printed out my own inserts. Much better.

I keep them. At one point in time I bought a huge binder with sleeves in it for the discs and boxed up the cases. I got tired of flipping through pages though and now they sit on a rather large bookshelf. It's a little ridiculous how many films I've accumulated but I have purged a few over the years of titles I would never revisit.

Back in 2016, I tossed out a ton of DVD cases and stored the DVDs in a then-newly purchased binder. This was due to the amount of space being taken up by my colossal DVD collection at the time. The majority of my DVDs remained in their original cases, however.
I ultimately came to regret my actions and have no intention of tossing any more cases in the foreseeable future (though I will continue to give away/sell old DVDs I no longer wish to own).

I keep my cases. If i need more storage space, I'll do things like rebuy a collection if I have them individually
Or if I have the dvd or bluray separately, then I'll buy 2 disc bluray cases and make them into combo packs.
But no, i keep the cases. Artwork is very important to me

Hell no. Sometimes I buy just for the case it's in.

I keep most of them but I have tossed a few. Mostly lesser known B-Movies and TV shows that I store in multi-disc storage cases.

Hell no. Sometimes I buy just for the case it's in. Have to admit to have done that myself on occasion.

Keep. Hate having single discs with no artwork to cover it in a case.

Generally toss, although sometimes I save a few for keeping disks...computer disks, in. I keep the artwork and cut it out and put it in the sleeve with the disk in the binder.

I bought some plastic sleeves that allow me to throw away the case AND keep the artwork. Best of both worlds.

I've started to throw away those for which the artwork is not essential for me or for which the value of the DVD/Blu-ray is not expected to increase substantially for selling during my lifetime.

Another reason why I keep the cases is that the DVDs get easily scratched and perhaps even damaged if they’re not safely secured.

I always keep DVD/blu-ray cases. It has never even crossed my mind to dispose of them.

I keep all my blu-rays in their cases. However, a few years ago, I purged a lot of DVD cases for space reasons. Keep the discs in a sleeve and the cover art in a box. Did keep any DVDs with special packaging as is, however.
