Lets forgo how the x-men are going to be introduced. Lets just go with who will play whom. I want it to be the original cast without Wolverine. I would go with. Professor X: Ralph Fiennes Always loved him as an actor and he can bring an intensity to the character. Cyclops: Richard Madden Can play the charismatic leader, which I think Cyclopes needs. Beast : Dominic Purcell He should be cgi'ed so his age doesn't matter. It should be based on the actor though. He should be cgied as the large wide ape like to start off. I liked him in John Doe as a genius also his voice is awesome. Marvel Girl: Saoirse Ronan Man this girl can act. She can play action (Hanna had some problems but she was good in it). Also if you going to pay for her to play give her a integral role. Iceman: Joe Keery Will have to handle the hair, but he can play the smarmy smartass well. Angel: Alex Pettyfer Not a great actor, but can play the rich arrogant character who wants to be more. Fox has pretty much has done every angle with Professor X and Magneto relationship, so who would you want to be the first Villain? Villain: Mr. Sinister Who should play him/her: Clive Owen Always liked Owen and he has that streak of malice he can tap into. I'm totally off and a lot of the characters are going to be cast my unknowns or up-in-comings like 3 years from now. Just got bored.

For mcu case it wont matter. remember mcu is not the series known where actors gives great performances like heath ledger, hugh jackman, ian mckellen or Partick Stewart or fassbender.
even their weakest movies still had well received performances aka Kelsey Grammer as Beast in X3 to say Iron Man 3 were Ben Kingsey was disgraced.
MCU XMEN actors all they need is green screen and to look pretty. this is why mcu xmen is a failure waiting to happen and will be terrible. Most mcu xmen actors will have the ed norton effect. i almost feel sorry for them.

finnes as xavier?
remember mcu cant make DOFP where xavier suffers with depression and substance abuse. that type of story was banned in iron man 3
also mcu cant make a logan's xavier all dementia.
so Finnes xavier is likely to be one dimesional. his talents factually wasted. judging from those factually film analysis he is already inferior to stewart and mcvoy.

I would make them post-high school teens. Start with only THE 5, introduce new characters in future installments.

All these theories on how mutants will suddenly appear in current day MCU are all unsatisfying and full of flaws. Hope Feige just brings the X1 cast in through reality warping from the gems.

Yeah there isn't going to be one way that everyone will like. I got tired of reading/thinking about how they would be brought over. I honestly don't think there is an elegant way to do it. I don't like the Xavier hiding them with his mind. The reality stone would be the quick and easy way, but the Russo's have said and shown that reality stone in the MCU is more like Illusions. The multiverse is probably what I would go with but it divorces them of their past to a degree. Especially, I think they would have to destroy that other Verse to give a reasonable plausible explanation on how they won't try to go back. The Multiverse could explain how they could go 50ish aged Magneto in present day and still be a Concentration Camp survivor though. You could have the the other world's ww2 happen 30 years ago in their perspective. Also it could really ramp up the hate for mutants, where other heroes get a pass. Not only are they mutants but invading mutants. I still don't like that separation of worlds though. Look at you getting me to think about it when I was trying just to put that to a back burner and think about cast.

Look at you getting me to think about it when I was trying just to put that to a back burner and think about cast. concentration camps?first class and x1. disney version will be the opening of black panther since disney cant open a scene with kids in nazi camps. am curious though since mcu screenplay are usually poor with awful villains and shallow comedian heroes. maybe you should make a thread of how limited the actors will be. RDJ is good example. he last good performance was iron man 1. we know disney had to dumb down his character to sell toys. even the sequel directors admitted and rdj has said the role can be embarrassing, so dont worry about the mcu cast. the level for mcu xmen is CW tv level. as said cast only works when you have a strong screenplay, directors actually directing and real drama something mcu xmen wont be since mcu themselves have admitted they dont make those films.

I don't like the Xavier hiding them with his mind. It is tiring indeed. Ive read and seen almost every article/video trying to explain how Xmen can appear in modern day MCU and they're all hokey. One of the better ones ive heard is Scarlett Witch had her X gene activated by Struker to manifest her dormant mutant abilities. An event then occurs in IW part 2 which kind of releases a massive surge of energy across the universe and as a result, all the dormant mutants on earth have their X genes activated and become mutants (kinda like Magnetos plan in X1). But that still feels incomplete, you will have to wait decades for Xavier/Magneto to go through their respective story arcs and eventually form Xmen. Multiverse/dimensional merging is my favoured explanation. Just take the cast from X1 and throw them into present day MCU. Have it explained that right after the Liberty Island incident, there was a galactic multiverse event and Xmen were chosen for whatever reason (earth needed more super powered beings for protection?) to end up in MCU earth. Everything that happened aftet X1 is deleted, so no baggage. Now you have ready made Cyclops, Storm, Jean, Magneto, Xavier, Iceman. They are welcomed into MCU earth but eventually become hated for whatever reason. Maybe even say that Scarlett Witch is actually from the Xmen universe and Strucker used the cosmic cube to teleport her to MCU earth and start experimenting. Its all messy though and whatever route they go with it wont be elegant as you say. But taking the X1 cast atleast removes the added strain on time needed for the actors to become prime Cyclops, Storm etc etc. From what I gather both Fegie and Iger are eager to do an immediate crossover straight away, maybe an Xmen vs Avengers thing, and this would be the quickest way to do it instead of recasting every single mutant.

Not to be Ageist but I don't think the X1 cast would have that many more years playing the characters especially if it takes till 2020 to spin up a production. I wonder how much the de aging process would take on like 10 people in every shot. Lol. Speaking of each outing it's gotten better. The de-aging was a noble effort in X3, but the tech wasn't there yet. (plus I think Patrick Stewart has looked the same age for like 40 years) The de-aging of Fury is great in the Trailer for Captain Marvel. Funny the worst age cgi in all the fox or marvel movies is Haley Atwell being made old in Winter Soldier.

No offense, but I am totally sick of reboots and recasts.
I would rather they return from the quantum realm, and see Sophie Turner et al standing there.

However, after so many Fox X-films of the Magneto-Xavier conflict, I think Fegie would want to completely minimise that in the MCU anyway, even with a recast. So those 2 would have minor roles at the beginning. Xavier would be a Nick Fury type, only appearing now and again to command. Its not a full time role. James Marsden is only 45 so no problem there. Halle and Famke are over 50 which could be an issue, but having seen Famke in DOFP, she still looks very good. Not seen what Halles been doing recently. Kelsey Grammar and Rebecca do makeup. Every other Xman they can recast if they wanted to like Rogue, Angel,. Or new characters like Gambit.

I agree with the first part, reboots are getting tiresome. But having the new Xmen cast wouldnt work i think. They are too young, imagine Tye Sheridans kiddy cyclops vs a full adult Chris Evans Captain America.

Feige's laziness will lead to disaster. remember the same excuse was used for uncle ben. the excuse that we had seen uncle ben die twice and fiege in his stupid wisdom ignored that and try to replace uncle ben with iron man which made homecoming a terrible movie. since the foundation of with great power comes great responsibility was absent.
so once fiege uses that excuse to dimiss magneto and xavier conflict aka humans and mutants hate eachother, which is the basis of xmen and should alwys be there at the back ground his mcu xmen will be terrible.
also remember what fiege said about xmen. he wants to use the latest cgi to test out xmen. feige is not interested in things like story telling, expect mcu xmen to be xmen batman and robin.

What does any of this rant have to do with casting? Trying to derail another thread? Back to the topic. They're not going to bring any of the old cast over. Why would they want any of that baggage? They will recast and start fresh as they should.

Back to the topic. They're not going to bring any of the old cast over. Why would they want any of that baggage? They will recast and start fresh as they should. Taking the cast from a certain point like end of X1 means no baggage. A new cast has its own problems; 1) explaining how they were always in the background. This will not work, no way with all the world ending threats like Malketh and Ultron will mutants keep quiet 2) giving them origin movies which will take 3-4 years to get them to team status 3) erasing established major events like Holocaust and X-Mansion creation. These will have to be retold with a new cast - and will be a problem because of reason 1. All this wouldnt be a problem if they were keeping MCU and Xmen seperate universes. But its not secret that Fegie and Iger want them in the same universe. With several key Avengers actors contracts expiring, they dont have much time if they want to do an Avengers vs Xmen style movie (which would be a massive draw). So dont rule out Fegie bringing in the original Xmen cast, especially since hes been talking about how its like coming full circle for him to where he started out in his career.

Some of that was the soft lighting, but mostly it was her. And she got a decent amount of screen time. The Wolverine was a I think a year earlier you go prolonged look at her compared to DoFP.
