They've had great success with Wonder Woman and Aquaman. What if they just nix the crossovers. Have each movie reference other known DC concepts or people, but never having one movie cause ripples in another.
WB/DC has had successes with self contained movies: Superman 1 and 2, Batman 89, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises.
The self contained movie has also been harsh to WB/DC: Superman 3 and 4, Swamp Thing, Return of Swamp Thing, Constantine, Supergirl, Batman and Robin, Steel, Catwoman, Watchmen, Superman Returns, Jonah Hex and Green Lantern.
We all know the story behind the DCEU. It always seems to hit high on the grosses (except for JL) , but low on the critical acclaim. Well that is until WW and AM. It seems like WB/DC with these two solo films have knocked off that mantel "Well they make money but they they have bad reputation"
Would you slowly just ditch the DCEU concept and just stick to standalones. If Shazaam does well both financially and critically, WW84 the same, Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad 2 (maybe nix this one and focus on the Birds), Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps.
Not all of these have to be super duper runaway hits. Just modest to good financials and modest to good critical reviews. Would you continue the streak going deeper into the bag. Booster Gold, The Question, Aquaman 2, New Swamp thing, Hawkgirl/man, Teen Titans, New Batman, New Superman, Injustice League, Birds of Prey 2 etc
To me as long as the streak keeps going I think I ditch the connected universe. Hell by the time you get to the Titans maybe throw in a new Batman and Superman self contained and maybe not even on the same world as Man of Steel and BvS. That way if by the time you get to Injustice League the Audience might be begging for a cross over. They could use New Batman and Superman from Multiverse replacing the old ones. By the time you get to Tee Titans on the that cobbled together list you're looking at 10 new movies after WW84. 2 a year that's 5 years from now. I think that's enough time past to reboot the 2 while still keeping everything that works.
Or are you happy with keeping the DCEU the way it is and maybe bring back Ben and Henry in a year or two. Maybe give them cameos in films between.
