It's a Japanese Anime that takes place in Germany(hence the use of the word "Fuhrer") around 1904 as shown on the tombstone of the alchemist brother's mother. The villains are a group of weirdos with the Star of David on them.

Um... It is set in the early 20th century, but the main story happens in the teens (1915). It is not set in Germany; the manga series and the BROTHERHOOD Adaptation have it in an alternate world. That written... The first adaptation series (which deviated from the manga source) does suggest that Germany (or rather Prussia or Germanic states) did exist, but like everything in the pre-1800 world was erased from all present memory. The concluding episodes has the protagonist end up in the Real World, London during a Zeppelin raid in 1916 and the movie CONQUEROR OF SHAMBALLA is mainly set in Germany 1923 at the time of the Hitler Putsch. Oh, and it has Fritz Lang and Japanese Animated renditions of NIBELUNGEN PART 1: SEIGFRED in it! The weirdos are the Homunculi, who bear the Oroborus. I don't think there is any semetic reference, unless one wants to view the Ishvalans as a metaphor of European Jewry in the 20th century.

Shouldn’t this be in the Anime sub board?
