Is that really different than the MCU fans who did the opposite: defended the lighter tone and weak villains and then reversed that stance when IW came out? Spoiler: All fanboys are hypocrites. Boom! Ackbar with the truth bomb! KA-POW!!!!@

I don't recall seeing anyone claim that IW is great because it is dark and gritty. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif) I didn't use those words. When did I say "dark and gritty"? MCU fanboys defended the lighter tone, weaker villains and lack of stakes then praised IW for having real stakes and a strong villain. It's no different than DCEU fanboys who defended the dark, humorless movies and are now praising Aquaman. Both are hypocrites. Innit?

Hardcore MCU fanboys defended the lighter tone, weaker villains and lack of stakes then praised IW for having real stakes and a strong villain. It's no different than DCEU fanboys who defended the dark, humorless movies and are now praising Aquaman. Both are hypocrites. Innit? IT IN!

It's only hypocritical if they ever said that having a strong villain with real stakes was a bad thing. Innit?

He isn't on this message board anymore though.

I don't think you will find many people who disagree with that.
Where do you stand on the reaction of certain "DCU tribalists," who are now loving this movie after years of championing the "gritty" DCU and hating on the more upbeat tone of the MCU. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif) Is that really different than the MCU fans who did the opposite: defended the lighter tone and weak villains and then reversed that stance when IW came out? Spoiler: All fanboys are hypocrites. Weird, since many MCU fans seem to think highly of movies like the TDK. It’s almost as if they like dark and gritty when it is well executed, unlike anything done by the DCEU. On the flip side, it’s not the execution of the MCU lighter tone that DCEU fans have scoffed at, it’s the lighter tone itself. And defending an otherwise great movie with a “weak” villain is not the antithesis of appreciating a great movie with a strong villain. That is why DCEU fans are hypocrites, and MCU fans are not.

I said fanboys were hypocrites. Not MCU fans in general. Or even DCEU fans in general. I'm talking about those really extreme ones that defend every aspect of "their" movies and despise every aspect of the "rival" franchise. You know the ones I mean... DC Fan, Former Sam, ...Uh... Some others who I dare not name
