I was looking forward to it but on viewing I didn't care for this anthology at all. Maybe with the actors involved I couldn't take it serious being it's classed as a horror drama. For me it fell flat. www.imdb.com/title/tt5516328/?ref_=nv_sr_1

It is my second favorite anthology, behind the original Tales from the Crypt. My second favorite FTV from the Challenge, first being The Belko Experiment.
Looking at the dvd cover art, my expectations were about as low as can be. I was expecting a microbudget, crappy acting, cheap awful CGI stuffed movie. The kind that are produced by The Asylum and SyFy.
So I was extremely pleasantly surprised. I love the wrap around story that ties it all together. I watched the movie 4 times, the latter two, looking and listening for all the "clues" like the colors red or yellow, the name of the pub, numbers on doors, buildings, bulletin boards, etc, 3:45 am, talk radio broadcasts, the janitor whistling the CD song, dead/dying birds, hell even the stethoscope, bedpan, ear/throat light, in place on the wall of the trailer, the motionless mannequins and Simon's stock still parents, standing there next to the running faucet, cell phones always ringing, Sunshine, And so many more.
The dead buzzing voice of Martin Freeman's wife was creepy af.
Barty was so strange. Why make him a birth defected cat? I think because maybe that was the Professors projection of regret of never having a wife and baby; maybe all he ever had was a pet cat. Maybe I'm reaching.
But my low expectation'sweree blown away. I loved it.

Nice review. Looks like I missed quite a bit. Maybe a bit too clever for me.

I still haven’t seen this one, but I’d like to. Jeremy Dyson, who co-wrote and -directed it, wrote the similar The Haunted Book, which I enjoyed and definitely recommend.
