DCU fans and general audiences have spoken. They can expect to be fed on a diet of poorly written CGI dreck from now until forever. Bon appetit!

Indeed! I read in the local Aquaman Box Office thread a few days ago that at WB/DC they are indeed very embarrassed and depressed.
Who would have thought? An Aquaman movie, the former joke of superheroes, flushed away all DCEU and most MCU movies, close to a billion. Unthinkable! Last years WW was the most profitable CBM by far, and now Aquaman simply swims over that? The SHAME! I do not think that was intentional.
If that does not kill DCEU nothing else will!

Why would that be embarrassing? Black Panther outgrossed every other MCU film.

Why would that be embarrassing? Black Panther outgrossed every other MCU film. Besides all 3 Avengers movies.

It was kind of a given. Once people have been talking nothing more than great things about Aqua after all the backlash for BvS and JL, more people were confident enough to go see it. I still like the other 2 movies, but there’s no denying Aquaman was destined to be more of a success.

I was thinking the same thing. It helps when your film has good reviews.

Why would that be embarrassing? Black Panther outgrossed every other MCU film. Exactly. And I'm pretty sure Marvel's Guardians movies out did Homecoming at the box office so I don't know why this situation is so different.

People do not understand how bubbles work: as long as there is an appetite for the genre people will crave for new yet familiar material: The time when B- and C-row characters outshine the overused A-Listers, such as Batman, Superman or Spiderman.
First example was when MCU biggest Star-IP Hulk flopped in theaters after the success of Iron Man with only $263,427,551 worldwide (budget of 150M+ plus at least 100M marketing if not more).
Then we saw the rise of WonderWoman or BlackPanther outperforming the A-listers. Or even obscure C-lister stuff like Venom or Guardians.
Embarrassment is just an expression of personal incredulity. You should be, but for different reasons.
