Correct me if I'm wrong but this is now a Disney property right? From what I've read , this has been in development hell over the years (directors like Doug Liman & Gore Verbinski have come and gone)
according to Channing Tatum's imdb profile , the Gambit film is still on for 2020. I think this could potentially be an awesome / interesting comic book film IF its done right.

For sure. I would actually start with an origin story with him as a runaway from his guild who then joins Sinister to cull the Morlocks but the Xmen save him from himself , kinda like the X1 origin if Rogue and Logan.
Taylor Kitcsh was okay in origins even though they didnt portray his powers properly. Channing Tatum may be too old. I picture someone like Andrew Garfield but more manly.

Just another one of a dozen mutants that just wave their hands around and make stuff happen. This is why I find most of the X-Men characters boring.
Maybe a creative movie team could make it exciting and interesting but I haven't seen it yet. This is why Wolverine has risen to the top in all the X-Men movies. Because he gets in there and goes toe to toe with the bad guys and he can withstand injuries and keep fighting.

No, not really. I got over the "rakish rogue" character trope when I was twelve. I don't have any interest in watching Gambit "kiss the girls" (or boys) for two hours. Hard pass on 90s trash, please.

I could take it or leave. It's pretty late, but I watched Venom so I might as well watch Gambit.

yes gambit would be a welcome change especially if bryan singer directed it and brought back the black leather that made the X-Men films so iconic
