Watched this last night, slept on it, was unsure how I felt about it.
It's different, but actually pretty good, and very creepy.
7/10

I wouldn't normally say this... but I think you need to sleep on this one, think about it, and put all the pieces together.

It’s a perfect 10 as far as I’m concerned. Super creepy.

watched it umpteen times. At the time, it really felt like creepy in the movies had been reinvented. I also got that vibe from the blair witch project and 2 or 3 Asian horror movies. session 9 remains the favorite from that productive period.

It's pretty solid. If I recall, the way it plays out is a relatively easily predicted twist that underwhelmed me. But it's certainly for some effective atmosphere and mostly good performances, outside of that one meme-able 'Fuck yooooouuuuu' moment.
I like Brad Anderson from this and The Machinist, and Transiberian. But some of his work is really weak. Vanishing on 7th Street was a complete waste and Stonhearst Asylum was lame. He's capable of good work though. I hope he gets a shot at another good script and cast.
Haven't seen The Call, but I remember it being a huge bomb, and I never checked out his Masters of Horror of Fear Itself episodes. Those might be worth looking up.
