I recently posted negative feedback for a particular seller on eBay (an actual company that uses eBay as one 'outlet' for selling their products (i.e., movie/tv dvds and blu-rays), rather than an "unincorporated" (i.e., an individual selling things via their website), based on the fact that something I purchased from them was 'lost' in the mail, and eventually took 3 weeks to get re-shipped and delivered. And YES, though I fully realize that something that was lost in the mail could not be considered their fault, the negative feedback was for them taking their 'sweet time' to eventually correct this, and along the way, ignoring a number of my email messages to them (not all, but most), while trying to find out if there was anything they could, or would, do for me in this particular situation (a situation, btw, that has rarely ever happened to me before on eBay). As a result of posting the negative feedback, they sent me an email message saying that they would no longer accept, or process any orders from me on eBay. Just curious if this was all on me, or if there are others who have "suffered" retribution of this type from a seller who feels they unjustly received negative feedback from one of their buyers. If nothing else, I have to admit that it is a VERY crafty way for a seller to limit potential negative feedback from buyers they deem a "threat" to them.... Anyone ?? SAVE FERRIS

I didn’t think you could leave negative feedback on EBay anymore?

Do you mean that you've been denied the opportunity to purchase from them again? Or they just won't make good on the original transaction?

Yes, that they won't accept any transactions from me again in the future. Like I said in the original post (though I clarified it slightly, since I realize I left one sentence out), they eventually made good on the original transaction, by delivering a second shipment 3 weeks later......they just didn't like the fact that I exercised my right to post negative feedback based, NOT on the fact that the USPS "lost" the first shipment, but rather on the fact that they completely ignored a number of messages from me trying to find out what they were going to do about the situation, while the whole thing was going on, not to mention the fact that they (seemingly) took FOREVER (and when I say "forever", I realize that 3 weeks isn't REALLY "forever") before finally getting around to doing it.

Can't say.....besides it's a moot point, since even if I did so, they wouldn't accept it.... SAVE FERRIS

SAVE FERRISeBay has changed as they have morphed from an online flea market to a huge corporation that wants to compete with Amazon. Negative feedback can only be given to sellers, and eBay comes down hard on those who get negative feedback to make the marketplace more of a place that provides guarantees like Amazon does. Listings are demoted, prices to sell are at full rate for sellers who do not keep their customers happy. Sellers therefore aren't likely to want to deal with those who don't delete negative feedback after situations are resolved, even if the seller absolutely deserves it. Probably for the best not to even want to deal with them, sounds like someone who is unresponsive anyway.

"I never leave feedback"
I ALWAYS leave feedback, since the whole 'system' is no good if people don't do their best to give SOME indication as to how the different sellers are doing.........and the other thing I ALWAYS try to do, is make SURE I am fair about the feedback I leave, even if I had a transaction that wasn't 'perfect'.
If a seller is attentive, and answers all my questions, they are almost GUARANTEED of never getting negative feedback from me (in fact, in the 10-12 years or so since I've been on eBay, I've probably posted negative feedback for a total of a half-dozen sellers).
But this particular seller just happened to push enough of my 'buttons', by completely ignoring me when all I wanted was to find out what was going on with this particular situation....

I've never been blocked by a seller but then again I think it's pretty rare that I've ever done repeat business with a seller anyways. It seriously reduces the items that you see, but I still narrow my searches to "auction only".
I think eBay should allow sellers to give negative feedback. I've sold quite a few things over the years and I've had some non-responsive buyers.
