And it has got to be the campiest Horror/SciFi I have ever seen.
A space ship shaped like a penis, Naked vampires, a zombie nun, Capt Jean-Luc Picard in a man on man kiss.
Has anyone else seen this?

The opening space horror sequence is impressive; the space vampire finale is over the top. What comes in between is highly variable entertainment. Saw it on the big screen and a couple of times since on TV. Not recently though.

Saw it on the big screen and a couple of times since on TV. Not recently though. From what I read on the IMDB trivia page the movie was supposed to be longer with the majority of the space sequences being what was cut. I agree the opening scenes in the Alien space ship were cool. I would have loved to see more of those bat creatures too.

It has a great start--the vampire ship is really cool. Wish there was more of that.
It has such a famous cast too.
And Patrick Stewart-Steve Railsback freaking out on the table. lol Unfortunately it gets worse as it goes. I did see the extended version which helps a little but the ending is just too bizarro.

Cannon promoted it as the "cinematic sci-fi event of the 1980s". Not the Star Wars of the 1980s. That was Masters of the Universe (1987).

I was considering this one on Prime. Prime really sucks lately for scifi and horror, both my go to genres.

Odd film by Tobe Hooper. I don’t remember much other than the opening visuals and Matilda May wandering around buck naked zapping people.
I wonder how faithful it is to Colin Wilson’s novel, ‘The Space Vampires’? I didn’t realise Dan O’Bannon co-wrote the screenplay.

Saw this recently and up until the last third i was really enjoying it. Matilda May was a joy to watch but it fell apart big time in the last third

It was quite the wild, out-of-control viewing experience. Starts off as straight-forward sci-fi, then horror, and then an apocalyptic mess. And all done with amazing FX. So I pretty much liked it. And then there was the matter of Mathilda May. Nuff said.

Sure its campy and in a very 80's way, but that is its charm.

Lemme guess... You'll only watch watch stuff no older than the 1980s. Just this past week I enjoyed three offbeat Japanese horror films from the 1970s on Prime... Trippy & atmospheric! THE VAMPIRE DOLL LAKE OF DRACULA EVIL OF DRACULA As for LIFEFORCE, I saw it on opening weekend back in the day (was 23 at the time)... and I have the Shout Factory Blu-ray.

Saw it in a theatre back then. Liked it at the time but never seen it again. They were handing out 'Lifeforce' buttons as a promotion. Pretty sure I threw mine out a few years ago.

Vincent Price especially. The Vampire doll sounds worth checking out.

Well, if you love Vincent Price then you're alright in my book.
VAMPIRE DOLL is probably the best of those three Japanese films, although EVIL OF DRACULA is a close second. But all three are strangely compelling, as if Toho was attempting its own spin on Hammer horrors (albeit set in the "present day").
Just remember to turn on the subtitles!

Always meant to watch this but never got around to it. Seems wild.
Tobe Hooper has such and odd filmography.

Yep. Something of a guilty pleasure movie for me. I like the idea that Vampire myths are the result of alien attacks, and I always thought there was a lot of potential for a good movie here. But the implementation is just so weird and wacky.

I saw it when it came on TV. No one liked it and 40% rated it as a bomb, but I thought it was okay.
