Its a very inspiring move. I always thought Tarantino's style would be perfect for a western. It got a lot of criticism due to its anti-white racism, but actually anti-white racism is essential to what makes us productive men of ethnic backgrounds(everything we do). Even though he is black and I am Mexican I feel that I got a little Django in me myself. I too killed me a cracker in my time. Drag em out in the street, beat them with bats,... run over their legs. Good times good times.

Good movie, but like with The Hateful Eight, it's self-indulgent for Tarantino's part and too long.

The Hateful Eight was stupid and disgusting. At least the protagonists in Django pretended to be good guys.

definitely a good film but it has a lot of faults to it too. like ck100 mentioned, QT made it way too fucking long and the 3rd act is too self indulgent . The moment when Calvin & the Dentist are killed, I just turn it off cause imo it just goes down hill from there and I don't have to see QT doing a terrible Aussie accent in his pathetic cameo role haha despite its flaws, I still rate it a solid 8/10 and consider it to be one of the better films of 2012. Just could have used some tightened editing imo.

Should have shaved 20 minutes off at the end. After Calvin Candy and The dentist are removed from the story, it becomes significantly less interesting. But overall its a real solid western with QT twist.

Has moments of cleverness and a slew of cameos and homages but as with many Tarantino movies, it degenerates into adolescent pyrotechnics.

Was actually refreshing during initial theatrical viewing. Alas, I can't get through 20 minutes of it anymore, it's such a heavy grind.

There was a Django movie where he was Mexican (or implied to be).
