He has changed some of the music and when I watched it, I also missed some of the original cues. It is a tighter edit, but I also missed some scenes as well that he removed. DOTD is one of the rare times I am a fan of an extended cut, which was Romero's first festival cut before he took out about 12 mins for a general theatrical release of just over 2hrs. I just watched "Dawn of the Dead" a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in many years, Toasted Cheese. I enjoy it very much. I believe it was the Argento edit. It was super long, like 150 plus minutes. It's fascinating that the the entire shopping mall sequence is so entertaining. That long shot of all those zombies walking on ice is stunning. And the Goblin score is majestic in its darkness. |
