does NOT have a shorthanded goal on his resume. Which one of the 10 players I've listed alphabetically below, with the fewest career SHG among the top 50, is it?
J. Beliveau J. Bucyk D. Ciccarelli G. Lafleur A. Ovechkin J. Ratelle M. Richard
L. Robitaille T. Selanne
P. Verbeek
None of the above have more than 7 SHG. The 5 with the most among the top 50:
W. Gretzky 73 M. Messier 63 S. Yzerman 50 M. Lemieux 49 J. Kurri 39

Beliveau. Though I believe Ovechkin and Ciccarelli have few enough to count on one hand.

I'm gonna guess Luc Robitaille. I'm thinking he didn't play too much when Kings were shorthanded.

Beliveau. Though I believe Ovechkin and Ciccarelli have few enough to count on one hand. Ya it was Beliveau. You answered right after I posted. Do you randomly know this for some reason? Obviously before my time but Beliveau seems like the type of guy that would have been entrusted to kill penalties. Lafleur only had 3 and Richard 4. I guess Montreal was pretty strict about player roles and the offensive guys didn't penalty kill much.
Boston must've followed the same idea as the Habs with Ratelle and Bucyk only scoring 4 each. Clearly Glen Sather and John Muckler didn't follow in this tradition as Gretzky, Messier and Kurri are among the top 5.
Ciccarelli had just 1. Ovechkin has 4 and could still add to it at some point. Verbeek (4) was in the penalty box too much to have a chance on the PK. Robitaille (3) wasn't the fastest or great in the defensive zone if I'm remembering correctly. Selanne (7) is kind of surprising. Seems like he would've been good on the PK.

I'm also guessing Montreal wasn't short-handed as much as most teams at the time, either.
