Ghostbusters and Gremlins, both at a drive-in as a toddler. Both came out the same day.
I had nightmares that lasted for years. I was terrified to go into the basement because I once thought I saw the shadows of Gremlins going down the steps. And don't get me started on the Taxi Cab Zombie from Ghostbusters.
But even though they scared the crap out of me as a little kid, I still loved the hell out of them as the same little kid. Love hurts, I guess.

I want to say the first movie I basically remember seeing in the theaters, or pretty close to it, would be...
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989)
p.s. I was born late 1979.

The Fox and the Hound
E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
The Boy Who Could Fly
Gremlins
One of the first three Muppet movies. I have no idea which. My only memory of it is falling asleep and my mom and older cousin woke me when it ended and it was time to leave.

Back to the Future Part 3 is my earliest memory of a drive in.
A Few Good Men is the earliest I can remember for a theatre. Although I know I fell asleep partway thru because I was like 8 and this was not a movie for 8 year olds.
