Poor Tom Cruise he trains a year to fly a chopper and jumps out of plane a 100 times, totally kills a bathroom, and breaks his ankle. What can you say , Black Panther is a masterpiece.

I know Tom Cruise performs his own stunts, but is he actually considered part of the “stunt ensemble” and stunt coordinators?

This leads to the real question of the day: How many bathrooms does a guy have to totally kill before he gets a SAG award?

Question, what doesn't stunt work have its own category? They're working harder than the A-list actors delivering their one-scene wonder monologues.

I know Tom Cruise performs his own stunts, but is he actually considered part of the “stunt ensemble” and stunt coordinators? Why should SAG reward a 56-year-old man whom hundreds rely on for their living for being irresponsible enough to perform his own stunts? He delayed the production and cost it millions because of his injuries in a failed maneuver. A guild is supposed to look after the welfare of its members and endorse best practice. Tom's behavior isn't necessarily something they should reward. Fall Out was lucky to be nominated at all.

Fall Out was lucky to be nominated at all. crew still got paid, insurance covered it. SAG gave the dark knight a win even though a stunt man actually died, injuries are part of the job But the cost overruns made the film less profitable than it could have been. Death is not a routine part of the job; injuries may be but, stars shouldn't be risking their lives and the production as a whole for bragging rights. The Dark Knight incident did not involve a stunt man performing a stunt. Conway Wickliffe was a special effects technician who was filming a stunt. He was shooting a dry-run of a stunt. That's different than being the star of the film and performing your own high-risk stunts. Wickliffe's death was avoidable but, risk was an unavoidable component of his job. That's not true for Tom Cruise.
