A lot better than when I was a kid. Considering I heard my 3rd grade teacher back in 85 (me and her were the only white people in the class) at lunch talking to the other 3rd grade teacher that, "There's no need for Black History month because they rarely do anything and when they do it's usually ends up with them in the back seat of a cop car." I can't be held to the exact quote, but I'd be willing to bet it's word for word. I told my Mom thinking she might call the school. She agreed with my teacher and didn't think it was a big deal. So, yeah fuck it. There could be worse things. |

Or in 10th grade when the PE Coach said "N%$#$#, can't be trusted with anything" when some equipment was damaged. Or in 12th grade when a Science teacher said that AIDS was punishment from God for Fairies, Sluts, and Thugs. Which was his by-word for Black people.

Luckily he wasn't my Science Teacher he just minded the seniors in Academic Enrichment (study hall). He was a Biology teacher. He started off Evolution segment (my gf had him in 9th grade) with the qualifier of "You don't have to believe any of this nonsense but you'll need to know their [used air quotes] facts to past the state final" Luckily I had the atheistic lesbian for AP Biology in 10th and AP Anatomy and Physiology in 12th. Loved that woman. God she hated him. |
