I watched it now and then. Another vote for Jaclyn Smith. I remember Cheryl Ladd saying when she joined that if she could "help anyone get through puberty then good."
The show was shot in widescreen-I thought that was an interesting future proof gesture. There was another show that also shot WS but I forgot which. Quincy maybe?

Back in the day I had a Shelley Hack and, of course, a Farrah poster.

I love this show. I can't say that it's a great show, but it's what I grew up with and, of course, I love the girls.
Okay, this is more information than you asked for and you might not even read this (as it seems like it has been a while since you checked in)
My favorite Angel is Sabrina. She has the most charisma, she has the strongest personality and she is the funniest. This is due in no small part to Kate Jackson's acting here.
Jill is my second favorite Angel. She is an effervescent joy to behold. Farrah is charming and lovely.
Kelly is my third favorite, but only due to her presence from the 1st season, where she is, appropriately, the show's 3rd banana. I think she looked the most beautiful the 76-77 year and the show played up her vulnerability and femininity, which were two of her most appealing qualities. She was still pretty good for the next two seasons, where Sabrina was still around to give her moral support, but in no way was she strong enough a presence to fare well the last two years.
Next, I go back and forth between Tiffany and Julie. I like them both a lot. They were both likable and had spirit. Tanya Roberts was beautiful and had an unpretentious quality about herself that sometimes inadvertently, though endearingly, lent itself to humor. Tiffany/Shelly was likable because she just seemed like such a good sport and I find that quality likable.
Kris is my least favorite. It's not that I dislike her and I think Cheryl Ladd is a more than capable actress, but there is something rather all-American apple pie ordinary about Kris Munroe. She's cute, she's got a good body, she's nice... but she lacks something for me. She doesn't have an edge, or, if I may be so bold, she lacks irony. Jaclyn Smith lacks this quality as well, but she was so perfect for that first year... I think Cheryl Ladd is going to be the favorite Angel for most straight guys and that I am not.
Favorite episodes, in chronological order...
1. "Lady Killer" 2. "Consenting Adults" 3. "Angels on Wheels" 4. "The Big Tap Out" 5. "Dancing in the Dark" 6. "Angels in Paradise" 7. "Angel Flight" 8. "The Jade Trap" 9. "Angels in Springtime" 10. "Teen Angels" 11. "Of Ghosts and Angels" 12. "Three for the Money" 13. "Angel on the Line"

I’d say Smith’s and Ladd’s lack of screen charisma in the presence of the others, is that they were just plain bland in the X factor zone. They just didn’t portray the same oomph. Too reserved! Roberts was just plain adorable and a natural charm bordering on klutz. "Too reserved!" - That is a great way to put it, Toasty. In contrast to the other four, Ladd and Smith were not risk takers. Even Shelly Hack was willing to put herself out there, even if she didn't necessarily have the acting chops to pull it off. I've been watching the 4th season lately and, really, I don't think she's all that bad. Once in a while she will have no idea what to do with a line and her transparency will appear a bit ludicrous, but sometimes she really does okay. Maybe even good. In all honesty, I don't think Jaclyn Smith is any better an actress and sometimes she comes across as less likable than Shelly Hack. I think that there was a kind of defensiveness about Jaclyn that made her seem not someone you could warm up to. Whereas Shelly was more likable. And if the two were equally mediocre actresses (for different reasons, perhaps), then Shelly wins out for me because of the fact that you can tell she is trying, whereas Jaclyn just phones it in. That's one thing I feel toward Shelly is sympathy because she got such a bad rap to the point where it seemed unfair. She had underdog appeal. But Smith just coasted on her cool beauty. And if it weren't for the 1st season where Kelly Garrett is a sweet girl (re: "To Kill an Angel" and "Target: Angels" and "The Seance"), I would place her at number five, behind Julie and Tiffany. Another thing that I don't like about Kelly or Kris is how they (the actresses, not really the characters, I would say) treat Tiffany/Shelly. They treat her like she's not even there. I think you can really tell that Tiffany wants to fit in and be liked and accepted by the other two, but K & K act like snobs toward her. And even when they do deign towards being friendly, you can tell it's a big effort for them to do so. 4th season Jill is no better. Poor Tiffany. I think Sabrina had the self-esteem and confidence where she would have been friendly and kind towards Tiffany. (Golly, I really do put a lot of thought into this show! Lol!) Sabrina was the warmest Angel. And I think Julie was the second warmest Angel. Then Tiffany had a gentle kindness about her and the other three had to watch out for the snob factor. Tanya was gorgeous and had a very cute personality. I agree. You could also tell she was giving it her all and I think her acting was just fine for what the show was.
