Doubtful they didn't give a shit about taking on Batman & Superman to kick off the summer a few years back, WB ultimately had to back down that time, also Aquaman's success is in part due to it having legs which is in part due to when it was released.
But ultimately they wouldn't want to risk it and the theatres wouldn't want it either, too much crossover audience, whilst opening together would likely break records for highest grossing weekend and stuff it'd be less money than if you combined their respective opening weekends if they were apart,

I don't know if anyone remembers now but originally Warner Bros placed Batman vs Superman's release date for the exact same day that Disney had Captain America Civil War scheduled for.
It moved in the end but for a little while they played wthe "who will move first game".
