Right now as I'm typing this I'm watching on my computer 'Rin-Tin-Tin' from Antenna-TV (with headphones on) and it was in stereo (this from the mid 50s). Is Antenna using something to create a pseudo-stereo effect since I highly-doubt it was originally recorded in stereo. It's not full-stereo like real stereo. I don't notice (hear it all the time). The episode in question is the one with Lee Van Cleef near the beginning (after the opening credits). It's somewhat weak so you to pay close attention (use headphones). I bet it's likely that the equipment used is from the Hughes (as in Howard) Corporation. They would make something like this. Also Rusty and Masters sound like they have stuffy noses.

Lee sounds normal (not stuffy).

I just heard the stereo-effect again when Lee is try to strangle Rinny with a rope around a tree. It's a dinging type of sound.

I replayed the scene just to make sure and sure enough it's in stereo. Different sounds coming from the left and right channels. Is it possible my computer (an iMac desktop) is causing this? Or is it definitely Antenna-TV?

I verified Rin Tin Tin and the Raging River was indeed originally recorded in mono. Now with headphones on I can hear it in semi pseudo-stereo. Rusty's voice goes in and out of being stuffy (I think he's being dubbed for some reason). More of the stereo dinging sound.
