So misunderstood. At least it was trying to show another side to being a Superman in this modern cynical world.

It falls into third place behind Wonder Woman and Aquaman. I welcome what Man of Steel tried to do, but it's still a flawed film.

I really like it. I love the Batman Begins meets War of the Worlds vibe. Honestly all the DCEu solo films have been good to me . The team up movies are where the disasters have truly lied

While there is A LOT of stuff I like about Man of Steel, it is also a mess from a writing standpoint.
Wonder Women is the only truly good DCEU movie so far imo.

That people hate and fear people who are different and telling Clarke to keep his abilities hidden because of that, thus teaching Clarke to be distrustful of human beings. Clarke also appears to be depressed and angry because he knows he is different and doesn't feel that he fits in with the world he is a part of. Society seems to be more anxiety ridden and fearful these days and I feel the movie captures that pretty well.

I haven't seen the other DCEU movies yet, but don't care for Man of Steel. They already made the perfect Superman origin story back in 1978.

He didn't really seem much of anything in the way of character. Nor did society seem especially fearful. The one time they do is when the put a satellite on Superman at the end, but then Superman destroys it and General Obama just kinda shrugs. Besides Pa Kent, I feel like everything you and him are saying is informed by BvS.

It's the 3rd best
It think it had two major flaws - the unforgivable ending and Pa Kent's idiotic advice to keep quiet even if you have the very easy ability to save people you love.

The one time they do is when the put a satellite on Superman at the end, but then Superman destroys it and General Obama just kinda shrugs. Besides Pa Kent, I feel like everything you and him are saying is informed by BvS. Eh, I guess we got two completely different feelings from what we saw and what we felt the movie was trying to say. I am referring to society in general, not directly in the writing of the movie. It is the tone and the fall of Krypton and Zod's feeling of meaninglessness that indirectly gives a certain feel of fear in society and Russell Crowe's monologue's about human fallibility that makes me see it this way. I suppose you could say I am seeing things that aren't there, but the movie is partly written by Nolan (Batman Begins being very much about fear) and directed by the director of Watchmen, so it makes sense to me that that is what they were going for. The fact that BvS takes this even further should be proof enough that my argument has at least some credibility. I didn't mean to say he is depressed and distrustful the whole movie. Once he he finds the ship, his life is given much more meaning and direction. I felt this way before BvS btw.

I'm no Snyder fanboy, I didn't care for BvS and Justice League sucked ass but MOS is probably one of my favorite superhero films. I like the different portrayal of Superman in this. The villains are great, the cast is great and every role adds a lot, the action is incredible. Zimmer also really makes this movie
Man of Steel 2 would have been so great. Seeing Clark balance his work/life between Daily Planet reporter and alien super-being, ala The Adventures of Lois and Clark, would have been very enjoyable. Instead we got BvS. Ugh.
