I’m surprised the margin of victory in 39 was only 3 points. That really was a routine victory for the Pats; the Eagles never looked like they might seriously win.

The Eagles scored the first TD in that game to go up 7-0 in the 2nd qtr. Hardly crunch time, but it's still better to be up 7-0 than down. It was tied at 14 after 3 quarters. Pats put up 10 in the 4th but of course gave up a late TD as they almost always do; but they recovered an onside kick attempt by Philly and that was that. I never felt like that game was in the bag until the Pats recovered that kick. |

SB39? Sure, Reid done goofed. That AFC title game? Hard to blame Reid too much for the Chiefs’ porous defense. |
