Did you find anything? I have a NES, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and N64 all hooked up in my den. Not that I ever have a chance to play video games anymore.

Grabbed a Atari 5200 with 2 controllers and 5 games for 75 bux that I didn't have. Got some Marvel games for the Game Cube and PS2. I got Myst for 3d0. A super scope light gun and game for SNES. Book-wise I replaced some books that my sister lost and found The Long Walk first Edition by Richard Bachman aka Stephen King.

Next time... just emulate... There is something I don't know what about having the actual hardware. I have made a compromise. I do have a Sega Gen and Turbografx16 Everdrive. They are Carts that you load roms on and play on the original hardware so I don't have buy things like Spiderman Web of Fire on the Sega 32x for 400 bux.

I think we gave our original X Box away. We have a 360 hooked up to the tv in the living room, but again I just never have time to play video games anymore.

Most of that stuff came out before I was born and, I'm not into maintaining vintage infrastructure. I've got at least a dozen consoles successfully emulated with RetroX. People say the emulators introduce subtle differences in gameplay but, it's not like I ever actually played the original version of Donkey Kong in an arcade to compare. Thin clients and gaming in the cloud is the way things seem to be going. Once the latency issues are resolved, you'll be able to carry your console in your jeans pocket... as in the little one... in the front...

My first System was an Atari 2600 when I was like 4.

It always takes 45 minutes before we can start playing at their place cause... stuff to unplug and hookup.

All the Games that can have Composite are hooked into 2, 8 port composite switches. The RF ones are hooked to a Coaxial Combiner then to a RF Demodulator (turns it to composite) then to the one of the ports in the 8 port switches. The 8port switches are then ran through a Composite to HDMI upscalers. Then I have a 4 port Component Switch for the PS2, Xbox 360, Wii. Finally HDMI switches that the HDMI Upscalers, Ps3 and etc are hooked up too. Everything is labeled so just make sure Switches are on correct selection and hit power. Flow Chart I had to make planning it out.

The Sheild is hooked up to an NAS with roughly 7,000 titles at my disposal. I emulate 13 different consoles. My biggest headache is the arrant update that might throw things out of whack for all of a minute. To each his own I suppose. Kudos to you for getting it all working seamlessly.

I will own a few Emulators. I've been helping a friend build this over the last year or so. Still working on the Cowl over the screen. Arcade Cabinet Emulator. His Idea is a swappable controller for different types of Arcade Cabinet. Joy Sticks, Wheels, Ball type controller etc. My idea would be multiple cabinets. Once we get his done. I will used the lessons learned to build mine multiple. I figure my 3rd bedroom will look like the living room on Silver Spoons.

Has your friend received any commercial interest? With the right UI and a system for easily swapping out the joystick hardware, I bet this could be a thing commercially.

Most "controllers" like the one shown are off the shelf and are Keyboard emulators.
