A-
Fun & fancy free, 80 Days offers a Disney'fied travelogue of sorts around the world. The whole thing feels like a giant picture book on film, with touches of the fantastical like ballooning over England & France, elephant ride through India, & riverboat steaming across the Atlantic. Sure it's not pc these days, but it's not very malicious either - it was 1956 afterall. If you went back in a time machine to 1956 today, you'd be exhausted by its racism & unable to fix it all. The movie has a very It's a Small World vibe to it, & yeah, that ride is probably just as outdated. One of those Oscar winners that seems forever out of reach (Region 1 dvds online go for around $100). Also an Oscar win that seems to have helped more than undercut a film's legacy. I enjoy it every few years, it's one of the more innocent blockbusters ever.

I remember enjoying it greatly when I watched it as a boy. Mainly for the balloon part.

WONDERFULLY filled with Cameos … watched it recently and it was just as good and maybe better than its first viewing on the BIG BIG Screen ! This time I knew who all the people in the Cameos were !
Still have the souvenir book... hard cover and it cost all of $1.

8/10. It didn't deserve to win Best Picture, but it's a visual feast for the eyes with great cameos in it.

Old-fashioned entertainment that still entertains.
I also think I've got that souvenir book
