I dug this. There were surprisingly a good amount of twists & turns in it to keep me guessing & was entertained by it overall . and it surprisingly had a good amount of heart to it too . The lead did a good job. That being said , there was definitely some cringeworthy / cheesy dialogue thru out but it didn't hinder the film overall for me. A lot of good actors in this one (btw some damn good cameos too! You're gonna want to pay attention to one of them for sure ) Battle Angel is a face paced /sci fi spectacle that should be seen on the biggest screen you can find . Is it a cinematic game changer like say Avatar? definitely not but it still brought a good amount of entertainment to the big screen and I'd take Alita over a lot of these soul less reboots/sequels that Hollywood keeps shoveling out to the masses any day of the week. liked it much more than i thought i would. i was worried it would be the new RPO (bland, soulless emotionless spectacle of hectic visuals) but this was surprisingly soulful. And entertaining. Christoph Waltz and Jennifer Connelly are owed for a lot of it. God that woman looks amazing. I liked Alita as a character a lot as well. Sure, she is primarily a manga dream girl built to be the eye AND mind candy for boys (sexy teenage girl who can fight) but I enjoyed how her role was being developed. Really liked the ending. 7/10 easy, maybe even 7.5 would have been higher had there been a bit more humor.

What are they attacking him for? It showed a strong female lead character. I would have thought that was a good thing? Who knows they complain about everything. She is probably the wrong type of strong female character in their eyes. Her waist is too thin are her breasts too big. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bBGYTXSsoM&t=675s

I was also surprised.
The way the story progress isn't exactly original but it's well done and pretty entertaining. I also watched the 1993 animated movie and they pretty much copied it directly into the 2019 movie. Still, the ending leaves an opening for a sequel in which we may get some answers to a few things.
7.5/10

Various parts of the internet have been organizing a mass viewing event of Alita: Battle Angel on March 8 as a means to help boost its ticket sales! Join us in viewing the film another time, and if possible find some people who have not yet seen it and drag them along to the cinema. Spread this message along and hopefully we can make enough of an impact to warrant a sequel!

Really enjoyed it. It had great visuals, some great performances, great action, which is what all these types of films need, and to top it all off, it wasn't afraid to push the violence a little. 8/10.

I finally saw it and it was waaaaaay more average than i expected, don't think i'll bother with seeing it again you know, out of the adjectives i would think to put next to Alita, average certainly wouldnt be one of them. here is why it was not average at all, to me
1. they killed an adorable dog in it for crying out loud, where else have you seen that, certainly not in your average fantasy or action movie 2. they killed off the main girls love interest, wow, where else have you seen that? 3. they killed off the woman that played essential part in saving the love couple. 4. the main girl really grew as a character, with her physical powers, her mental powers grew, which can be said for a lot of movies, but her character grew much more, to the point of becoming not only a reinstated leader, but someone who wasn't afraid to go against its good natured father figure (thats not average at all) and who seemed to have fully realized and use their value, wisdom and powers without getting cocky. with your average fantasy superhero, they either dont fully realize how powerful they really are, thus delay using the best of their powers for unnecessarily long (harry potter, frodo) or they become arrogant (iron man, spider man lately even superman), she had real depth and integrity to herself as a character which felt really way above average. 5. the cgi and visuals were So Not average :}

It's the next Star Wars i believe this movie will be loved more and more with more time having passed. i dont believe a few years from now people will really remember much of the batman vs superman or avengers or cpt marvel as much as what stood out about Alita. I really do hope for a sequel.

Solid 8/10 for Alita, seen it twice wasn't bored second time around so has to be a winner for me. My only real problem with it now is the lack of character time given to the villains. Felt like generic baddies doing baddie things. Desperately needs a sequel but given how poorly it did domestically I doubt Alita will ever see one. Could hope for an animated series I suppose.
