Did they get you, in the end?
I've revisited the first two recently and found them to be just plain dumb fun (emphasis on the dumb). I recall liking Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go To College more, and will be revisiting it shortly (I've yet to see IV but it looks bonkers).
So, is this your favorite franchise concerning critters coming out of crappers or do you have another that you prefer?

I prefer the other films to part 1. I still haven't watched the final film. I've heard it's not as good. I do have "Ghoulies go to College" in a DVD set.
I remember watching "Munchies" ages ago and "Hobgoblins". I have the "Critters" collection on DVD.

I enjoy Ghoulies, but for me Ghoulies II is more like it. The ghoulies are front and centre in this sideshow. Plus the bonus is that it uses a carnival backdrop for its mischief and mayhem. Some nice rubbery effects, grisly carnage and outlandish thrills with a real mean streak when the ghoulies turn a funhouse into a real horror house for the unexpected patrons. And then some... Phil Fondacaro spouting Shakespeare and a conjured up ghoulie (100x in size) goes to town for the film’s climax.
Ghoulies + travelling carnival + haunted house attraction = a perfect match... of ghoulie high fives, toilet bowl payoff and some dude’s tunes.
I haven’t watched parts 3 and 4.

I always mix up these movies and the Critters movies.
Similar looking stupid little puppet things.

I like them. I have heard they are working on making a new 'Ghoulies' movie and I don't know if it is going to be a sequel to the original franchise or a remake or reboot but I think 'Ghoulies' is a movie where it is not really important 'cause a lot of fans just want to see the 'Ghoulies' and if they make a movie that delivers on that and is good fans will like it.

I think 'Ghoulies II' is a good example of a movie franchise where the sequel is far better than the original movie and while I didn't mind the first movie I enjoyed the second one a lot more and see it as a classic Horror Comedy movie. I liked the characters, the setting and the kills and I think if they remake the 'Ghoulies' they should remake the second one over the first.

I think I saw the first two maybe, thought they were bad way back when they came out. I'd probably enjoy them more now though. Is there really four of them?

Love them. They're extremely fun. It's a pretty diverse series too since each movie is quite different than the others. The fourth film kind of sucks though.

Just watched ‘Ghoulies III’ for the first time the other week. Definitely dumb, but enjoyably so.

I think I may have seen Ghoulies 4. Or parts of it, at least. All I remember is that it featured one very attractive actress dressed in leather. Don't recall anything else.

The fourth movie was pretty bad and killed the franchise so you didn't miss out on much not seeing it but I would recommend re-watching the first three especially 'Ghoulies 2' again 'cause it is a Horror Comedy classic and is enjoyable. Did you see any of the other similar movies that came out around the time like 'Critters', 'Troll', 'Munchies', 'Hobgoblins' and 'Gremlins?'

Me neither, but from what I heard they both suck. Actually I haven’t seen a single Ghoulies, Critters or Troll movie either. I am most interested in Critters though.
