...and it was kinda just meh. What happened? It was supposed to be the horror movie of the year...last year. The nun in The Conjuring 2 was creepy as Hell, so I was anticipating even more creepiness. The nun was barely even on screen! The cast was good and the setting had potential, but nothing really grabbed me and freaked me out. Maybe I've seen too much horror or was expecting too much? Anyway, I thought it was just alright. Guess there won't be The Nun 2...or will there?

Also, the one good jump scare was already spoiled in the trailer.

There’ll be a sequel alright. Hopefully it’ll be an improvement.
Even the first Annabelle was better than this film.

I thought Annabelle was skillfully directed, with less boo scares and more emphasis on tension and atmosphere. The Nun had its moments, but overall just meh. Too many cheap boo scares.

I still have yet to see it. Everything I read about it is so mediocre, nothing exciting. Plus I'm not the biggest fan of The Conjuring series...or whatever you want to call those movies.

And at least it with the Conjuring universe films are trying to create their own horror icons and franchises as i'm no fan of the Conjuring spin-offs and Happy Death Day but at least it's something different, not quite, but it's not the same horror icons/franchises i've already seen like Elm Street or Hellraiser or Saw or Scream or Friday The 13th, they are trying to create their own new horror icons and their own franchises as they are giving it an effort.
And that's what i think, i mean let some older franchises and their icons like Freddy, Jason, Pinhead, Ghostface, Jigsaw, Leatherface etc. just die and rest in peace and come up with your own franchise and new horror icon and just try again, try try try again.

Oh. I liked it a lot, especially the Universal monsters feel.

Still haven't seen it. Waiting for it to come out on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Oh. I liked it a lot, especially the Universal monsters feel. It also borrowed from Fulci's stuff like City of the Living Dead aka Gates of Hell
