ALWAYS before when I quoted someone who had a video in their post the video would NOT be in the quote I post. NOW, I see that my video which someone else quoted is INCLUDED in their post. Then I quoted them and the video IS there. Before ONLY pics and gifs were included in quotes.

It depends on the source. YouTube is the most prominent and it uses what are called "iframes" and those are what are being blocked. Others use video tags which are not blocked.
If it's an inconvenience, I can block those in replies as well.

But I blocked them in replies anyway. Might as well stay consistent. Actually, I PREFER videos showing up in replies. Looks BETTER that way. Plus it's there IF the original poster deletes.

It's just the nature of the beast.

bartlesby Still no way to block the inclusion of images in quotes ? Often "LOL" or "you suck" is the only reply . and Sometimes the images appear 3-4 times because several posters in a row don't know how to reply any way other than by using "quotes" and the pictures are irrelevant to what they are saying.

More like no immediate plans to do that. Images do cause a lot of visual bloat but once an image is loaded into the cache, there's no performance dip which is the concern with YouTube videos. Further, I haven't heard a lot of demand for it, so I've not worked on user specific settings to implement it. I suppose it is possible to allow for both videos and images to display or not display in replies on a per user basis but I can't give a timetable on when I would get the code done.

It's a possibility. Making these things optional would be beneficial to both RIP wanting to see videos in responses and you not wanting to see images in responses. It's just a matter of finding the time to script it out and make it a reality.

Plus it's there IF the original poster deletes. The URL to the video is still in the quoted posts, it just doesn't display. As Bartlesby explained, there are practical reasons for suppressing videos in quotes. I see no practical reason to block quoted images.
