Elsewhere I was discussing how the MCU fleeces tens of millions every time a movie comes out because on apps like Fandango, for instance, the RT scores are plastered everywhere. So this scenario plays out literally millions of times when one of these flicks drops:
"GENERIC MCU MOVIE: 98%"
Average moviegoer assumes: wow, this got a NINETY-EIGHT PERCENT, like close to a perfect score! That's like a 9.8/10! Marvel just keeps hitting it out of the park!
The reality: 98% of critics gave the precisely manufactured McProduct the exact 51% or better that it was consciously ENGINEERED (not created; not written; not directed) to garner so as to perpetuate the illusion above in the minds of most people.
And it just repeats over and over again. Modifying it slightly is how you get shit like Black Panther, which is just this basic formula with a dash of some bizarre, cringe strain of liberal white guilt. I think they were tryna replicate that with CM, and it fell flat. So they dropped all pretense and pulled the plug.

I think they were tryna replicate that with CM, and it fell flat. So they dropped all pretense and pulled the plug. But it isnt a regular score & you know it. It is the "want to see" score. Its like saying a sandwich sucks because only 20% of the people say they want to try it. The response should be for those who have tried it. Like the Rory burger. There's a 50s diner in town-Corvette Diner-that names its burgers-like the Dee-Dee is the basic cheeseburger. The Rory is guaranteed that if you dont like it, they will give you a different burger. Rory is a hamburger with bacon & peanut butter. I never wanted to order it, but my PB loving husband did & loved it & let me taste it. On an RT want to see scale, I would think that burger would have a less than 50% score. Which is what you are going on about, dude. Do yoy honestly believe CM is coming in with less than $60 mill opening weekend. She is in the Dr Strange/Antman lesser known heroes realm of Marvel. THAT is her only comparison. You can't even comparr her to Wonder Woman because WW is far better known.

I don't really feel like that's Disney or Marvel's fault though.
Now I love the MCU with all my heart, but lets say for arguments sake that they literally serve shit sandwiches. I don't care how many people have given it a positive review, the world shouldn't just blindly eat shit sandwiches.
Either people are seeing these movies because they truly want to or they are allowing someone to convince them to continuously eat a shit sandwich... and that's their own damn fault.
I mean.. Suicide Squad was a hot steaming pile of rotten tomatoes and people still decided to watch the hell out of it.

I should really stop eating McDC and McX-Men fast food, and start eating healthy MCU cuisines.

I also can't help but think that if anybody were capable of gaming the system, it'd be WB who actually owns Rotten Tomatoes and is Disney's direct competitor. It seems to be a fact that's widely ignored by the ones who feel that Disney is manufacturing the results.
I mean honestly, if Disney were the ones who owned RT.. that fact would be used so heavily in any and all debates regarding rigged RT scores.
If Disney is capable of paying off critics then it's reasonable to imagine that WB would be powerful enough to stop it from happening on their own website.
But Iron Man 2 is Certified Fresh so wtf do I know?

So you would think Warner Brothers and Universal would be the one gaming the system.

I should really stop eating McDC and McX-Men fast food, and start eating healthy MCU cuisines. As Momoa said at the Oscar's red carpet, superhero films are modern mythology. So no harm watching all of them. It's just MCU manages to present a decent product with everything we expect, though no daring new swerves. DC is still in desperation mode, like Burger King offering Whoppers for-was it a penny?- if one ordered using the app from a McDonalds facility. DC reeks desperation, how much can we shamelessly copy?

I invest in a minority of shares of Microsoft but I have no control over Microsoft or any of its sites. WB also invests in a minority of RT (corporations often invest in other corporations) but WB has no more control over RT than I have over Microsoft.

I understand that but how can someone claim that Disney has some kind of control over it when they aren’t even invested in it? But WB that IS invested in it somehow has less control than Disney? It just doesn’t make logical sense and I feel like if it were the other way around, and it was Disney that was invested in the site, then people would be claiming that as undeniable proof that they have control over it.

Stop ignoring the facts...WBs 30% ownership of Fandango has way more pull than your measly shares of microsoft. If you can't see that you are a bit of an idiot
