. . During her press tour, she selected a disabled black woman to conduct an interview, solely for the purpose of being able to tell everyone she selected a disabled black woman to conduct an interview. Actually she was given the opportunity by Marie Clare magazine to have the interviewer of her choice, and seeing that she was raising the issue of representation in that interview, she chose someone who she knew through internet conversations, as well as being one of those that had been overlooked or not given as many opportunities because she was disabled. And she didn't tell anyone...the journalist actually makes the point in the interview, pointing out how long she had known Larson, and how she felt she had been looked over some high profile interviews because of her disability. It's not like she was chosen as a token or many "white dudes" were overlooked in favour of her. If she was given that choice and chose a "white dude" how would that have come across considering the nature of the interview (BTW I'd be surprised if there are that many male contributers to Marie Clare anyway). It seems she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't Making all sound very negative seems to suit some peoples narrative

The vast majority of kindergarten teachers are women. Does that mean that schools are discriminating against men in hiring kindergarten teachers? NO!. Far more women than men apply to be kindergarten teachers and, in general, women are better kindergarten teachers than men are which is why they get hired more often.
Disproportion does not equal discrimination. People need to be treated as individuals and not as members of groups. All facts and all variables need to be accounted for before you make accusations of discrimination.

But you realize this runs counter Brie's narrative about white male overrepresentation in film criticism, right? And therefore bolsters the argument of the people opposing the film on some sort of philosophical grounds, but you oppose their view and support the film as an ardent MCU fan, yeah? So I guess I'm confused.
