Not having Deadshot in Suicide Squad is weird, but it can work. As for Smith's future as Deadshot I wouldn't mind him coming back but do not know where else to place him in given he won't be in The Suicide Squad and the upcoming Batman movie will be set in the Dark Knight's earlier years fighting crime.

This gives Deathstroke a chance to be the lead instead. I like Will Smith as an actor, but this franchise isn’t suited for him. He was okay as Deadshot (despite the questionable casting) but I felt like it is just WS playing WS as usual.

It does open the door for Deathstroke to replace him. If not, why keep Manganiello around when he could be at Marvel playing Taskmaster?

Give him the Martian Manhunter movie. Make it about a shapeshifting detective that had a psychotic break when going after a super villain and thought he was the super villain.
