cool and definitely a smart move on the release date (doesn't have to go up against Avatar 3 ). Plus it gives Jason Momoa some time to do other projects (like Dune).

long wait for the fans but not too long. I disagree. I think its just long enough for people not to give a shit any longer. And I was a huge fan of the Aquaman movie. When you have something hot you have to nurture it and strike while the goings good. You don't wait five fucking years.
And never mind all the other dc heroes! WTF? I'm convinced we're never seeing any of those characters movies. Flash? What the fuck is so hard about doing the story of a guy that can run fast? They do it weekly on the WB! Except this would have a much bigger budget! Superman? How hard is that to do something, ANYTHING, good with? Green Lantern? Instead of having James Gunn do The Suicide Squad, why didn't they put him on that?
The difference between Marvel and DC isn't that Marvel has better characters or better creators; its that DC is moving forward from a place of fear, and Marvel has always moved forward from a place of faith. They believe they can make good movies from their properties... so they do. Its really that simple.

Explain to me how you do everything they did in Aquaman under real water for as long they did? Explain to me how you hold your breath under water longer than a human can?
Not over water, not on the water, but UNDER the water, for long sustained scenes and many multiple takes?
Oh, and have them talk underwater too.
We'll see what Cameron comes up with, but I'm sure he's having the same problems...

Well he HAD a lot of PROBLEMS shooting under water. But he kept pushing till he SOLVED those problems. Thats what visionaries do, they dont just take the easy route, THEY BREAK NEW GROUND. Nobody can say that about Aquaman.

“I think when you consider that these sequels will be three hours in duration and #2 is described as focusing primarily on the ocean side of Pandora and Jim is at heart a freediver/scuba diving explorer and someone who wants to share an inspiring vision of the underwater world, I think it’s safe to say that even though it takes place in the future, on another planet with the Na’vi and Metkayina as the focus that Avatar 2 will be the most significant diving film ever made.”
Performance Freediving International Founder Kirk Krack, who’s spent the last two years working on the film, and just recently returned home after stints on sets in Los Angeles and New Zealand, emphasized that “this isn’t Aquaman"
“No one was hanging on wires with a fan in the hair and water spritzers to give a ‘wet look.’ This was shot with performance capture underwater in what is called wet-for-wet, not dry-for-wet. So when you see Kate Winslet, Sigorney Weaver and the kids freediving underwater they actually did that for minutes (2.5+min) at a time.

Just compare The Abyss with Aquaman and see how a 30 year old movie blows it out of the water. (pun intended)

That'll give them time to actually write a decent script this time (hopefully).

"The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Park has signed on to reprise his role as Dr. Stephen Shin in Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming DC sequel. Dr. Shin first appeared in the 2018 film, where fans had last seen him rescuing Black Manta during the film’s mid-credits scene.
In addition, the studio has also enlisted three new cast members to the franchise which includes Indya Moore (Pose, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions), Vincent Regan (300, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), and Chinese-Portuguese actress Jani Zhao (Jogo Duplo, The Sugar Captains) in her first major Hollywood film and English-language feature debut. Moore is set to portray the role of classic DC character Karshon, who first appeared as a Green Lantern villain in 1963. In the comics, the character was originally a normal shark, who after getting hit with radiation, had gained abilities including intelligence and telepathic powers. As for Zhao, she is expected to portray the role of Stingray, an original character created just for the upcoming sequel."
