I'm with you on Eastwood. I like most any movie that he's in.

Recently, going back to their 70's movies that I had never seen has given me such great joy! There's some great stuff to be found back there!

What are some 70s Eastwood movies that you recently saw for the first time? I watched Every Which Way But Loose (which I had seen years ago) and the sequel, Any Which Way You Can (which I'd never seen) most recently. Clint having fun in a "Burt Reynolds" kinda role. I also saw Paint Your Wagon and Honkytonk Man, but one is from the 60's and the other from the early 80's. Running out of Clint movies, I had to even go back to the 50's to see Lafayette Escadrille.

As for Charles Bronson, most recently I watched him in The Mechanic (1972), which was later remade. This was a really great movie. And even more recently, before viewing Death Wish (2018) I had to go back and finish the original series with Bronson, so I saw Death Wish V: The Face of Death (1994).

Apparently Bronson begged Bergman to cast him in a sweaty lesbian drama but old Ingmar wouldn't budge - figuring Bronson's fans would buy him as either fully sweaty, or as totally lesbian, but not both simultaneously - nor as borderline anything.. ....so his COLD SWEAT co-star Liv Ullmann got offered the gig and pulled out of DEATH WISH at the last minute to do SCENES FROM A SWEATY LESBIAN MARRIAGE, recommending Bronson for the part she vacated ....and the rest is history... sorry, herstory

Good call Lebowskidoo on The Mechanic, it has such a badass ending.

I grew up watching both of their movies. They made some really good, gritty action flicks in the 70s and 80s, the kind that just aren't made anymore. Now it's all high octane CGI explosions.

Both Eastwood and Bronson came in rather late in my life as being interested in their movies, but since the 1990s when I begun enjoying seeing their movies.
My first cinema experience with Clint was Firefox 1982, and I didn't like it at all, I've later learned that it might be one of his worst. Then I managed to get tickets for a sneak premiere of Pale Rider 1985, and that became the turning point for me.
My first cinema experience with Bronson was either Telefon 1977 or Raid on Entebbe 1978, the latter was a TV-movie that also was showed on cinemas in some countries. I can't look it up since many of my old notes and memorabilia became mush or disolved after a flooding. Those two might not be the typical Bronson's but around there the turning pont started in a very slow process for me.

I have to admit my Bronson viewing is fairly limited but I always liked him. Eastwood though, I imagine I've seen all of his theatrical catalog (can't say the same for his television appearances though). My Dad was a big Eastwood fan so we watched most of his films up into the 1980's together at some point in time. I actually liked Firefox though, haha. I remember there was even a crude laserdisc based arcade game based on the film in the '80s.
I need to catch up on Bronson's back catalog. I have to admit I've actually never watched any of the Deathwish films.
