Fasting, abstinence, prayer, charity.
Do you take part in Lent? Interested in how many of our resident Catholics (and posters of other denominations, or none) will be? Sharing our own Lenten vows with our brothers and sisters can help us stick to our own vows, whilst encouraging each other.
I shall be:
Fasting on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and every Friday of Lent.
Abstaining from all fried potato products for Lent. Abstaining from insulting other people.
Praying the Our Father more often daily, and aiming to attend an extra Mass every week during Lent, not just the Holy Days of Obligation.
As many charitable acts as I can.

Well, I try not to talk to much about it. Sharing with others what one gives up for Lent is usually discouraged by priests. I do take part in the Stations of the Cross on Fridays. I try to attend that as much as possible.

clusium is the more active and devout Catholic here. Thank you. I'm actually not as good a Catholic as I try to be, though.

The gospel for the recent St. David's Mass invites us not to hide our good works, but let them shine forth as an example to others. I guess it depends on why you are sharing... Is it for self glorification, or to help yourself and others come together, and improve?

I'm going to try to find things I can donate from my closet to a clothing drive or shelter and make it to mass every week.

IF I was a Catholic which Heaven forbid I am not......wait!.... oh never mind! THE ONLY one I couldn't do is the whole thing! Yeah, I'm going to find the fried potato abstinence hard, as I'm a bit of a crisp and chips fiend (think crisps = chips, and chips = fries, if you're merkin). Early doors, but so far so good 👍 Coped fine with the first fast day yesterday... next one is tomorrow, which is gonna be a long one. I'm going to do Stations of The Cross at 7pm at St Bernards, and I'm not going to break fast and have my one simple meal until afterwards.

I'm giving up buttfucking for Lent. Does it work like that? If you feel that is an area of yourself you could improve by abstaining from for Lent, then yeah, I guess so 🤷 Good luck with your Lenten vow, and well done on giving your battered arse a rest 👍

So my own arse is safe. Well, you say that... It's ok, I'm not gonna judge you 👍

the sling bearer
i was considering inviting vice president mike pence to our upcoming wedding and using his neck as a pivot point to strap a giant rubber band to releasing a forty four pound dildo aimed directly at the supreme court of the united states.
but there's far too much hate in his heart and real love revolves around those compassionate parts human beings know only to well as catapults over any and all imagined hells he sees necessary to prop up one more version of good gosh almighty my god sure is swell.
sjw 03/08/17 inspired at this very moment in time by one mike who wont be there.

Is this the one where they put dirt on their forehead?
I literally told a Catholic dude he had a big thing of dirt on his face.

I noticed it for the first time this week at work. I thought the same thing but it was someone I don't know so I kept my mouth shut.

Don't celebrate Lent, but I do kinda like it because it means McDonalds sells their Filet O fishes for less
