Another strike has been given out for provoking/baiting behaviour and posts deleted.
People, stop biting into it. You know he's trying to get a rise out of people so stop falling for it.

Rotten Tomatoe consesus
"Packed with action, humor and visual thrills, Captain Marvel introduces the MCUs latest HERo with an origin story that makes effective use of the franchises signature formula"
So nothing new or original, just the same usual MCU movie filled with comedy and CGI action with little depth and its currently at 86%. Astonishing

Astonishing Are you going watch it? We aren't the demographic for reviews. These movies have their hooks on us. Even people here who profess to hate it will watch it. Edit: I honestly don't know who the demo is for RT. Never met a person who actually uses it for it's intended purpose.

speaking of bias...most of the reviews headlines sound mixed to bad but are magically getting good pass score. hmmmmmm. if this was fox or wb or sony. the case will be different. eg Captain Marvel is a messy origin story with some clever twists: EW review. grade BโCaptain Marvelโ Review: Marvelโs Newest Superhero Never Quite Soars- screen crush. grade 6/10. complete bullshit. screenrant reviews is worse. it gets a 4 star because it has the mcu humour and action. this critics are a joke. ha, MCU fans if only you had listened to martin scorsese. it is indeed the content that matters when it comes to legitimate film criticism. but then we never bought thor jokenock's funny good reviews. Man, you're going to be feisty when you hit puberty, Nancy.

Reading the stuff that charzino, darkpast and summers8 are posting you'd almost think that this was a bad movie. Yet if you actually read the reviews, majority of them state that this is a good movie. In fact, majority of the bad reviews only go so far as to say this is mediocre, not really horrible.
Based on the greater majority of the reviews, the general consensus I'm getting about this movie was that it was good but not great. Roughly on par with decent MCU movies like Dr. Strange or the first Thor and Cap movie.

I saw not one, but two entertainment websites (Nerdist and Superhero Hype)report on their Facebook page that Capt. Marvel is getting "mixed reviews". Since when is the high 80s mixed? Very strange.
The really interesting thing was that one of them was Nerdest, who are very outwardly PC and SJW.

Only 65% with top critics on RT, mediocre Who are basically the critics RT chose to become a Top Critic and see as "influential"...not sure why their opinions are more important than those of established professional critics for such publications as Screen International, Independant (UK), Forbes, Cinema Blend, Empire, Daily Telegraph (UK), Total Film etc who have not been given that tag. Even well respected and/or known critics like Mark Kermode, Tony Rayns, Geoff Andrew, Caroline O'Sullivan or Kim Newman are not worthy of the "Top Critic" tag. A lot (if any) of the writers of publications like Sight & Sound and Film Comment are not Top Critics!!

They say ten m pie so nothing special and feels like mostly set up, yet basically give it a pass in the end

The RT percentage is around Infinity War numbers, and most of us don't call that movie as "mixed" or "divisive".

Just because a movie is not extra special doesn't mean it's a bad movie.
