Because it worked so well for Ghostbusters. Not to mention the sheer success of the Rush hour TV show that was cancelled after one series.

Learn something new everyday. As for this news , its just nauseating . So many reboots & remakes it makes my head hurt. The only thing that would make me see this is if they cast Alexandra Daddario & Zoe Saldana doing an ass to ass scene.

And still no female reboot of Brokeback Mountain... Some comedy YT channel did a lesbian parody of it. The ending was hilarious.

Xan Hollywood please just leave reboots alone especially gender bent ones? Gender bending remakes don't normally work. For example Ghostbusters 2016.

Err what happened to 'Rush Hour 4' with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker returning? Jackie Chan has been talking about making that movie for a while in interviews and Chris Tucker confirmed it was going ahead last year. This sounds like the 'Charmed' remake all over again but with a movie. The original actresses want to make a continuation series and the fans want to see it but the channel tells them they are too old 'cause they are in their 40s but takes the idea to bring it back and replaces them with younger actresses. Much like 'Charmed' I would rather see the sequel to the original 'Rush Hour' franchise.
