Scar face is one of the most boring movies ever
Battle of five armies is the best of all the Lord of the rings movies
Back to the future 3 is the best one
Mortal Kombat is a perfect action movie
Movies over 3 hours all suck
Arnold Schwarzenegger should have been nominated for an Oscar for jingle all the way
now before anyone says oh my god you're an idiot that's what a hot take is.

Curse of Chucky is the best of the series. Spider-Man 3 > 2

Modern superhero movies are all pretty much the same. I don’t see any reason to go to any more of them.
I have just about sworn off the films of fan-boy favorites Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Paul Verhoeven, and Lars von Trier.
I wish that Denis Villeneuve would occasionally return to his French-Canadian and his smaller indie film roots such as “Incendies” and “Maelström.”
I much prefer crime and action movies from Asia (particularly Hong Kong and South Korea) to Hollywood product.
I have really, really enjoyed Keanu Reeves in several of his recent films: Man Of Tai Chi, the John Wick franchise, and Destination Wedding. He shows range in these pictures as a billionaire villain, an action anti-hero, and a romantic comedy leading man, respectively.

At 3 hours and 58 minutes, Gone With the Wind is the second longest movie I've ever seen. Second only to Donnie Darko.

-I like these films:
Ghostbusters 2016 The Hobbit trilogy Prometheus Avatar The Dark Knight Rises The Star Wars prequels The Last Jedi
-Tim Burton is a good-but-not-great director
-Many people love "Vertigo", but I thought it was boring
-Good-but-overrated films:
American Hustle Spider-Man 2 Juno The Martian

-Tim Burton is a good-but-not-great director Well by looking at what he’s been doing lately, I don’t think that opinion is very unpopular anymore.

Those are good films, and I do think he's a good director, but I don't think he's one of cinema's greatest directors. I haven't seen all his work so I don't know what I'd say is his best film.

I wish he'd stop wasting his time on unnecessary remakes like Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dumbo, etc. But I'm sure those are clearly "one for the studio" types of films he's doing so he can get more passion projects done.

What about The Godfather: Part II (1974) or Once Upon a Time in America (1984)?
Couldn't get through them.

Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly were great in Bound
Alyssa Milano was super sexy in Embrace of the Vampire
Elizabeth Shue was hot in Palmetto
Lena Olin gave an outstanding performance in Romeo is Bleeding
Carla Gugino is the hottest woman in Hollywood.

- Subtitled films can be good - excellent even - but are generally a chore to watch because having to read everything that's been said while also having regard to the images on-screen is frustratingly tiring. Non-English-speakers who grew up watching subtitled flicks likely find this a lot easier than your average monolingual Anglophone.
- Schindler's List would have been better in full colour as, for me at least, black-and-white tends to create a kind of distancing effect between myself and the film I'm watching.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III had a good plot.
- Inception is bloated with exposition and, visual effects aside, quite a boring film.
- Captain America: The First Avenger is superior to The Avengers.
- Movies made from about the 70s onwards tend to feature stronger, more credible acting performances than those made in earlier eras. There are, of course, exceptions to this, but the older style of acting more closely resembles stage acting compared to the more naturalistic, realist style that evolved in later years.
- No movie should exceed 2.5 hours in length. Any longer than that and the creators may as well just have produced a mini-series.
