I found it entertaining enough to not be boring. The humor was pretty good and the chesmisty between Carol and Fury. Not much wrong with it on a technical level.
My problem is that the action scene are pretty underwhelming. This movie has to have the weakest action scenes out of any MCU film. The only time I said “that was pretty cool” was when she fired those handcuffs at the Skrulls.
I can see why many people are calling Carol an underdeveloped character. Her backstory of her dealing with sexism throughout her life was very undercooked and her having to suppress her emotions to control her powers is even worse. I think the latter was only mentioned like two times in the entire movie. I even forgot about it until it was brought up again towards the end with the stand off with Yon-Rogg. It didn’t seem like she was suppressing her emotions or having trouble with her powers through out the movie.
It don’t think it’s a bad movie but it is the weakest MCU movie to me by far.

Probably because it wasn't a big movie. That's the danger of having movies come after event movies like Infinity War. Captain Marvel was a really small movie along the same lines as Ant-man and the Wasp. I think the dealing with sexism was at the right level. You have people crying about the small bit we did get. I think the suppressing of the emotions was just to keep her from remembering her past and what they did to her. None of the others had to suppress their emotions. They were all joking with her. Carol's cocky side was too strong to suppress.

I will also say that I like the twist with the Skrulls. I actually respect that change.

He theorized that there was a subplot that was edited out. That would explain why Carol’s backstory is underdeveloped.

The only thing, that I can remember, that wasn't in the movie was her getting up, in uniform, with a bunch of guys looking at her. Like she was being called. But part of that was in the movie as a photo. Something I just learned that they do from watching a Bad Boys 3 bts.

My main gripe was the underlying feminism and that Ronan line....oh boy....the wooden emoting by Carol didnt help
Apart from that, it was a pretty solid film

I will also say that I like the twist with the Skrulls. I actually respect that change. A change that can be changed again because there are different colonies of Skrulls. Not all of them are good.
