I have been rewatching Game of Thrones since the beginning and it struck me that, in addition to the main characters, there are so many secondary characters who are quite well developed and acted. Who's your favourite?

If you ask me my favourite actors among those who played secondary characters then I have to say Jonathan Pryce & Charles Dance.
If you ask me the favourite characters themselves then I do say Ser Bronne, Tywin Lannister and Ser Davos.
I do not consider The Hound a secondary character although I know most do and I am fine with that.

I can't pick, and no one can make me.

Bronn, The Hound and Pod
Pod is interchangeable with a few others, but hound and bronn have been two of my faves since season 1.

I do like Brienne. She reminds me a lot of Ser Duncan the Tall. Height aside. Tywin is also one of my favorite side characters early on. Dance steals each scene.

There are too many truly enjoyable secondary characters to limit it to just three, and some of my favorites (Alliser Thorne, Qyburn) aren't even on your list. Out of the ones available I chose Tywin, The Hound and Varys, but I could easily have picked Bronn, Davos and Jorah; and Melisandre, Olenna and Brienne would not be far behind. One of the huge strengths of this series is its compelling secondary--and even tertiary--characters.

I think what helps a lot too is even some of the really minor characters are portrayed excellently. Think of a character like Karl Tanner, The Legend of Gin Alley. He added so much flare to a character that was nothing. Walder Frey...despite being a major factor in the earlier storylines...only appears in about 6 episodes. But he's portrayed perfectly by David Bradley. Much like in the books...there are so many little characters here and there that so wonderfully flesh out this world. Makes even the most mundane encounters all the more interesting.

Walder Frey is another memorable character, I agree. Old Nan and her 'ice spiders as big as hounds' gets a line in remembrance in "Hardhome" and the blue-eyed giant named Macumbah (sp?) was mentioned in another season 4 or 5 episode.

Old Nans delivery on that ice spider story is pretty damn great.
