What bibles are approved by the Roman Catholic Church? Don't waste your time posting anti-catholic statements, please. Try to cite your references and include any study bibles also approved by the Catholic Church. Thanks for any help. I took this data from a Roman Catholic website:
Is the new American Standard Bible Catholic? - Quora www.quora.com/Is-the-new-American-Standard-Bible... Additionally, catholic is a word that simply means universal. All true Christians are catholic, but not all true Christians are Roman Catholic. The New American Standard Bible (NASB) [(C) The Lockman Foundation] is indeed a bible that is used by the catholic church, but it is not one of the translations that is approved by the Roman Catholic church.
I know that it was not approved by the RCC. Why? I do not remember at this moment.

I'm down with the Revised NJB New Testament and Psalms edition.
The NJB is pretty much the standard for Roman Catholics here.
I've moved up to the revised edition, whose language is more gender inclusive.
I think the full Revised NJB with the Old Testament is out in 2020, but I'll stick with just the New Testament and Psalms edition.
I'm looking forward to a pocket version of the Revised NJB New Testament and Psalms, so I can carry it about easily with my Missal.
