A surprisingly accurate character analysis... (Though I think they have Miranda and Carrie swapped) So for any good team dynamic in a show, they almost always need to fall into the 4 roles mentioned in the above link... For brevity: Leader, Brains, Heart and Wildcard. (Though I always liked using Earth, Water, Air and Fire.) The problem with these 4 particular characters is that they are all very "Firey". Matt is most likely the Leader...and Jessica is probably the Wildcard. I could see Luke as the Heart, but there is no way Danny is the brains...at least not how he was portrayed in Iron Fist. That makes the big, indestructible tank, the brains, and Danny the heart... But that doesn't feel right either. Thoughts?

Daredevil the leader Jessica Jones the rebel Luke Cage the muscle Danny Rand the joker That might be true in the comics, but in the shows, I would argue Jessica was far more the "joker" than Danny.

I agree Jessica is the wildcard. I want to say Matt could then be the brains, and Danny the heart, which makes Luke the leader, and that would almost make sense since Luke is a leader of the Avengers in the comics, but he hasn't shown leadership here or the dominating position in the hand storyline.
Matt has to be the brains though. He's the college educated lawyer. Luke I agree could be the heart, which makes Danny the leader. Now think about that for a second. Matt has always been reluctant to fight in the war with the hand, but Danny says it's his sole mission. And it's time for him to take on the full Iron Fist power. I'm going with that.

Matt is the leader, Luke the muscle, Danny the heart and Jessica the wildcard.
The leader is the brains in this outfit.

Daredevil as both the leader and the brains. Jessica Jones as the wildcard. Luke Cage as the muscle. And Iron Fist as the heart. Based on how the shows have been so far, that's how I can see the dynamic of the Defenders being in the show.

Ironfist - the jerk who's too full of himself and will charge in without thinking (heart) Jessica Jones - the drunkard who just doesn't give a fuck, who'll save your ass one day and just not show up to fight bad guys the next (wildcard) Daredevil - the guy who's actually pretty selfish and keeps giving holier-than-thou speeches (leader) Luke Cage - the guy seems calm and collected but actually just has so much emotional baggage that he has a hard time functioning properly (brains)
And though I may be half-joking with this post, I actually think these roles will translate well to the show. It will at least be not stereotypical behavior and will feel more organic.
