Ill just list the ones worth mentioning...
1)Pulp Fiction (1994) - 9/10 (Sam Jackson scenes are the highlight, especially that end scene in the diner) 2)Django Unchained (2012) - 7.5-8/10 3)Kill Bill vol 2 (2004) - 6.5-7/10 4)The Hateful Eight (2015)
it's close between Kill Bill vol 2 and The Hateful Eight, but ill give the slight edge to Kill Bill vol 2 for now.
NOTE: only 173 movies managed to score a 7 or higher out of the 2,250+ total movies I have seen.

I watched pulp fiction again last week for the 5th time (in a long time). It didn't quite seem as brilliant as I recall, in particular the second half. I've reduced it from 9 to 8.
pulp fiction - 8 reservoir dogs - 7 jackie brown - 7 django unchained - 7 the hateful eight 6 kill bill: vol. 1 - 6 kill bill: vol. 2 - 5 death proof - 5 inglorious basterds - 5

1. Pulp Fiction - 10/10 2. Jackie Brown - 9/10 3. Inglourious Basterds - 9/10 4. Reservoir Dogs - 8/10 5. The Hateful Eight - 8/10 6. Django Unchained - 8/10 7. Death Proof - 8/10 8. Kill Bill: Vol. 2 - 7.5/10
9. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 - 5.5/10
I don't find the characters interesting, I find the dialogue dull and sometimes cringe-inducing (silly rabbit trix are for kids, ugh), the cinematography is ugly, especially during the final drawn out and yes, boring fight scenes and Lucy Lui is just not a compelling villain. The movie really gives me no reason to care about The Bride or whether she gets revenge or not.
Luckily Vol. 2 fixes everything I dislike about Vol. 1.

Luckily Vol. 2 fixes everything I dislike about Vol. 1. All that criticism and you still have it at 5.5/10? Well I can certainly see why you would prefer Vol. 2. They’re both great for different reasons and while I prefer 2 for the storytelling and characters, 1 is more entertaining and kept my interest the whole way through. As for the Bride, she wanted revenge because of what happened at her wedding day. Seems reasonable enough for one to care about her.

More is needed for me to care about a character than just saying her family was killed.

And also making an argument about why I like the first Vol better.

I have given it 3 chances and it just falls flat for me every time.

The opening fight scene. The Pussywagon and the foot scene. The acting from most of the cast, especially Uma Thurman. Sonny Chiba's cameo and the honzo sword. The motorcycle scene. The anime sequence. The basic story idea. The reference to Bruce Lee. The music, especially the brilliant use of Bernard Herrmann's score from Twisted Nerve (1968).

For me the entire soundtrack is topnotch. Almost all the tracks work for each scene they’re presented in.

That is basically what I meant, I was just pointing out that I like the Twisted Nerve music best of all.
