Any fans of "Police Academy" or any of its sequels? Hard to believe it's been 35 since this came out. While not a great film nor one of the best comedies ever made, it's amusing enough and that's largely due to the characters that people remember. We all know of Mahoney (the wise-ass), Tackleberry (the gun nut), Jones (the voices guy), Hightower (the stoic big black dude), Hooks (the meek black woman), Harris (the jerk instructor), etc. I think people also remember the sequences at that gay bar called The Blue Oyster. It's hard to believe that we had 7 of these films in only a span of just 10 years. I don't really remember much of the sequels except for the one in Miami and I think that's the sequel people remember the most. It might even be the best of the sequels.

There was a bit more going on in Police Academy but every time I hear the name of it, I recall back to being a kid and having a kid friend excitedly tell me a guy's head goes into a horse's ass.
So forever more, when somebody brings up Police Academy, I think "Oh yeah, the one where the guy goes into the horse's ass."

R-rated version: "Drop that stereo before I blow your goddamn nuts off, Asshole!"
TV version: "Drop that stereo before I blow your gosh-darn knees off, Eggroll!"

Those films were a huge part of my childhood. I love them then and I still dig them today. Part 7 is pretty lame though but the first six are good fun.

I sat through the first one and didn't laugh once. I do like the voices guy, although one scene of him in Spaceballs was plenty.

The first one is still fun, and the next three was acceptable with funny moments, and then it went downhill
Steve Guttenbergs career went the same way
