Lots of people say that "Casino Royale" was good, so if you think that's the best Bond movie, then you think David Niven was the best Bond, since that's his only 007 role movie.

I'm thinking about David Niven going one-on-one with Red Grant in the train compartment in "From Russia With Love." Niven wouldn't have lasted 10 seconds and SPECTRE would now be ruling the world.

That Casino Royale was a mess of a movie and a complete butchering a classic spy novel. As for Niven, I can't help but feel he was outshined by Peter Sellers and Woody Allen. So, no.
