I could care less what his political views are, as long as he keeps them out of his movies. I want to be entertained. Watching a movie is supposed to be an escape from political bullshit, unless of course it’s a movie about a political figure, which I generally don’t watch.

Sadly, the dominant, rivaling political factions situated in America are vying for control of the popular media landscape to use as a delivery system and indoctrination tool for their respective belief systems and agendas. Comic Book Movies happen to be popular now and are a ripe target. I wish we could go back to the days of geek culture being a fairly underground and esoteric thing. I would trade every ounce of money, clout, and visibility earned by the movement for the chance to have a civil conversation about comic book literature at my local comic book store again.

I refuse to get manipulated by this media nonsense. And it happens on both sides of the political spectrum. When I’m discussing a CBM with someone, I simply don’t allow the conversation to turn olitical, if someone tries I either change the subject or walk away. Most of my family and friends don’t fall into the political nonsense either.

I don't like Tom Brady, and I don't like Donald Trump. But I wouldn't cut ties with a friend because he voted for Trump. After all I DO have friends who voted for Trump. I call those friends stupid, but that's another story.

Please stay on point, do not quote a Wikipedia article or give examples of any other entertainer besides Chris Evans and do not try to make Evans into some kind of noble hero here - The comments in topic are very un-Cap like and so is his online behavior concerning politics, he comes across as pretty narcissistic and dictator like, look at his comments at Kanye West and the Covington High Schooler, neither of whom he apologized to by the way. You call that Cap like? You do not know the character if you think it is. Respectfully, just because Chris Evans plays Captain America in big-budget movies, I don't think that's a good enough reason to hold him to a higher moral standard than other Hollywood actors or other human beings. A lot of famous actors are hypocrites or have been known to act hypocritically on occasion. Actors follow the trend to maintain relevance. If Evans doesn't want to be friends with another individual over his politics, that's a personal decision and, I really could care less. It's a bit childish but, whatever. The real, deep down reason this draws news is that one side believes that Evans could potentially pull people away from their camp because he's famous. That said, those who could be seduced are likely folks you didn't want in your clubhouse anyway. I see how it might bother some but, ultimately you do have the option not to follow his social media, listen to his interviews or go to see his movies. This is pretty much anti-news. Thank you for the response, very civil and fair which is very welcomed. To be honest I do not hold Evans any higher than any other actors in the industry because he portrays Captain America in the movies I do find it groan-inducing when every entertainer out there strives to be so political and makes everything into a statement of some kind and even occasionally showing scorn towards their own fans who question their choice of words and decision making. I think its a good thing entertainers have expression of politics but there can be problems if they do not word their comments carefully and oversaturate it on their social media feeds when the majority of followers they have are really only interested in their work.

Chris Evans is an uptight dork. Can't handle someone he likes not agreeing with everything he believes. What a tool. I can't imagine living that way. Kinda sounds like his Captain America, ironically. That's the point Feige was making. It's exactly Cap. Steve Rogers was a sickly guy who should have just accepted he had too many health problems to serve in the military, but he kept trying to join up. What sold Erskine on Steve over all the other potential subjects was his heart. Steve was a good man. He didn't want to go to war for the glory, but because he wanted to do the right thing. He didn't want to kill Nazis because America was at war with Germany. He stated he didn't like bullies. What the fuck is Trump? Calling people names. Twitter feuds. Captain America wouldn't support such a president. The writer of the comic specifically addressed Nixon's misbehavior by having Cap become so disillusioned he became Nomad. Were not talking about whether Cap or Evans would support Trump, but whether or not they could support a football player who does. If Evans can't cheer for his favorite football player because he doesn't like who he voted for, that's beyond pathetic. It's so petty and immature. What a fucking tool. What kind of loser decides what movies or TV shows there and watch, sports teams they cheer for, or music to listen to based on the entertainers political beliefs? You have to have a pretty big stick up your ass to live your life that way.
