I thought Kitsch did fine with the very little he had to work with in Origins: Wolverine. Except I doubt we'll see him in anything costing north of $50M ever again.

Yeah, there's no way this happens. Feige is just humoring Kinberg for the sake of good manners and politeness during this transition period. I'm sure both Kinberg along with Lauren Shuler-Donner knows this and that their relevancy and level of involvement has faded. Feige has his own plans for the X-Men/Fantastic Four and they will be built for longevity from the ground up, taking the necessary time to do things right and not with the 20-year baggage from the old films nor these inherited little "in-development projects" that never came to light when they were sitting on Fox's shelves.
